Tang Palace Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Maddington

My family came here to celebrate 2 of our birthdays and did not have the best experience. We tried to call the waiters so we could order entrees and did not get served for 15 minutes (there was only 1 other family dining in). The attitude of the 2 waiters was very off putting even when they were taking our orders.

When the mains were coming out, 1 waiter came holding 2 plates and she set 1 down and turns to me and goes: a little help? We then asked for more chilli oil and 1 waiter goes "No just give me a second" - we get our chilli oil after we've finished all our food as that's when she finally remembered that she never came back to serve us. It was terrible customer service and we felt like we were bothering them.

Fried wontons were full of batter and did not look like wontons. Chilli salt and pepper squid was just dry rubbery squid dunked in a heap of batter and fried. Fried rice was dry and had no flavour. The rest of the food was fine, but the poor customer service outweighs how the...

Incidentally came across this place when browsing for appliances next door and decided to give it a go. Neither of us expected much due to the location and also pretty quiet inside but was absolutely amazed. Restaurant was closing for lunch break but they kindly welcomed us in still. Every dish was delicious and generous portion, highly comparable to many of the quality Chinese restaurant around Perth. Roast duck was very flavoursome but a bit disappointed it didn’t come with the roast duck gravy/sauce. A bit of a hiccup, we ordered Peking “Spare Ribs” but Peking “battered pork” was served. Steam rice is $4 per bowl or $16 a pot which is super expensive for Chinese restaurant. Firstly I would like to say the food was amazing! So amazing I didn’t even get photos because i smashed it back coz it was sooo fricken yummy! And it said y’all were going to be 50mins on the menu log but it only took y’all probably around 20-30mins? Which was excellent 🥰🥰🥰 but I was probably the worst screaming at you on the phone, well not at you but to the poor delivery girl because she was on the wrong drive way and I couldn’t get out onto the road, i did how ever explain this in the instructions, it was just a misunderstanding and I apologise sincerely 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 anyway I thought i owed you all a great review so you won’t black list me haha.
