Good venue, good coffee and good service. A concern in these environmentally aware times is that although we ordered two coffees and a cake to dine in, the whole lot was delivered to our table in single use, disposable takeaway containers.
So, in order to survive the six metre journey from the counter to our table, the coffees came in cardboard cups with plastic lids, the cake was served in a cardboard tray, the accompanying cream in a small clear plastic tub with lid attached, and to top it off, we had to eat our cake with throw away wooden/bamboo splintery forks.
We returned to this place because of the the good coffee and atmosphere, but this budget and lazy use of throw away containers for dine in customers is equally environmentally unaware, lowbrow and wasteful.
Get back to proper cups, crockery and cutlery and it's five stars from me.
Come on guys, the use of nice mugs, china plates and old school metal cutlery is what this customer would come back for and would present your fine product in the appropriate manner for maximum customer satisfaction...
Read moreThe coffee blend was very generic. Kids seemed to be running the place. I was charged and refunded 4 times because staff did not know how to use a Square point of sale device for NFC payments.
I provided 2 different types of travel cups. The barista overfilled both which resulted in coffee spilling out. There are volume measurements on the inside of the cups and max lines. First time I've had this happen. Also no discount for bringing my own cups.
The coffee bar also has Breville Smart grinders which seems to indicate that the regular clientele are not enthusiastic about the taste of their coffees as this grinder cannot grind fine enough or consistently enough for single origin espressos and are barely serviceable as pour over coffee (however por over was...
Read moreBreakfast wrap has some sickly sweet bbq sauce in it (or something similar) that was so overwhelming it was inedible. Tumeric Latte they say they put honey in- that's fine by me, but what came out did not taste right. It tasted like pumpkin or something like that. I get tumeric lattes from other places all the time, I've never had one I couldn't drink until now. Got hubby to try both to see if it was my imagination and he was repulsed by then both. Hubby said his coffee was boring and didn't finish it (unusual for him not to finish a coffee). Giving 2 stars because hubby said the Reuben he had was good, otherwise would give 1. No ambience, not enough space inside for all the people waiting for takeaway coffees, just lots of people standing around starring...
