Aangan is such an underrated place that is tucked away in the corner of Craigieburn plaza. My family and I prefer this restaurant over the other ones at Craigieburn Central. The menu options are perfect with a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. I find other Indian restaurants overwhelming with an extensive list of dishes, most of which aren't available. This is not to say that Aangan isn't offering enough. They offer a variety and each of the dishes have distinctive flavours; for instance, no 2 curries will taste the same; each stand out on their own. My family and I are from India so we appreciate this a lot. A lot of other Indian restaurants we have tried have very similar tasting curries. The other stand out for us was the serving size of the curries; they serve more than most Indian restaurants we have been to; for instance their curry dish can comfortably feed a family of 4; at almost all other places it will only serve enough for 2. Staff were nice and polite and food was served quickly. My only critique about this place if I'm being really picky is the ambience. It's a little too dark for our liking. From the outside this restaurant may appear to be closed.. but unfortunately it's just their lighting. Overall, we love this place and have already visited twice. Needless to say, this will be mine and my family's go-to Indian restaurant in our local area.
Thank you for the wonderful service and meal :) I'm sure we will be back for more!
As a person from India who grew up eating all sorts of Indian food, I'd strongly recommend everyone who is reading this review to give this restaurant a try. It's definitely...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience at Craigieburn Location
I’ve visited several Angan Indian Restaurant locations in Melbourne, and they’ve all been excellent, but my experience at the Craigieburn store was a complete disappointment.
We waited for over an hour for our food, which is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the restaurant was dirty—plates and glasses were not properly cleaned, and the overall cleanliness was very poor.
The service was appalling. The staff were rude, showing no courtesy—there were no greetings, no smiles, nothing. The food was placed on our table with no words or basic politeness. It felt like they just didn’t care at all.
The food itself was very bad, lacking flavor and attention to detail. Overall, this experience was nothing like the high standards I’ve come to expect from other Angan locations.
I would strongly recommend avoiding the Craigieburn location. There are plenty of better options for a much better dining experience. I won’t be coming back...
Read moreI recently visited an Indian restaurant and had a truly satisfying experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional Indian decor that added to the overall authenticity of the place.
The food was the highlight of the visit. Each dish was rich in flavor and made with fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken — creamy, perfectly spiced, and served with fluffy naan bread. The biryani was aromatic and well-balanced, and the vegetarian options were just as impressive, especially the paneer tikka and dal makhani. The variety of chutneys and pickles served on the side enhanced every bite.
Service was friendly and attentive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations based on our preferences. Our food arrived promptly and was served with care.
Overall, this restaurant offers a delightful taste of India, both in cuisine and in hospitality. Whether you're new to Indian food or a longtime fan, it's well...
