Aangan is such an underrated place that is tucked away in the corner of Craigieburn plaza. My family and I prefer this restaurant over the other ones at Craigieburn Central. The menu options are perfect with a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. I find other Indian restaurants overwhelming with an extensive list of dishes, most of which aren't available. This is not to say that Aangan isn't offering enough. They offer a variety and each of the dishes have distinctive flavours; for instance, no 2 curries will taste the same; each stand out on their own. My family and I are from India so we appreciate this a lot. A lot of other Indian restaurants we have tried have very similar tasting curries. The other stand out for us was the serving size of the curries; they serve more than most Indian restaurants we have been to; for instance their curry dish can comfortably feed a family of 4; at almost all other places it will only serve enough for 2. Staff were nice and polite and food was served quickly. My only critique about this place if I'm being really picky is the ambience. It's a little too dark for our liking. From the outside this restaurant may appear to be closed.. but unfortunately it's just their lighting. Overall, we love this place and have already visited twice. Needless to say, this will be mine and my family's go-to Indian restaurant in our local area.

Thank you for the wonderful service and meal :) I'm sure we will be back for more!

As a person from India who grew up eating all sorts of Indian food, I'd strongly recommend everyone who is reading this review to give this restaurant a try. It's definitely...

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Craigieburn Location

I’ve visited several Angan Indian Restaurant locations in Melbourne, and they’ve all been excellent, but my experience at the Craigieburn store was a complete disappointment.

We waited for over an hour for our food, which is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the restaurant was dirty—plates and glasses were not properly cleaned, and the overall cleanliness was very poor.

The service was appalling. The staff were rude, showing no courtesy—there were no greetings, no smiles, nothing. The food was placed on our table with no words or basic politeness. It felt like they just didn’t care at all.

The food itself was very bad, lacking flavor and attention to detail. Overall, this experience was nothing like the high standards I’ve come to expect from other Angan locations.

I would strongly recommend avoiding the Craigieburn location. There are plenty of better options for a much better dining experience. I won’t be coming back...

I recently visited an Indian restaurant and had a truly satisfying experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional Indian decor that added to the overall authenticity of the place.

The food was the highlight of the visit. Each dish was rich in flavor and made with fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken — creamy, perfectly spiced, and served with fluffy naan bread. The biryani was aromatic and well-balanced, and the vegetarian options were just as impressive, especially the paneer tikka and dal makhani. The variety of chutneys and pickles served on the side enhanced every bite.

Service was friendly and attentive. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations based on our preferences. Our food arrived promptly and was served with care.

Overall, this restaurant offers a delightful taste of India, both in cuisine and in hospitality. Whether you're new to Indian food or a longtime fan, it's well...

Visited the Restaurant for the first time, after a great delivery (Menulog) experience. Food was amazing, after an understandable delay. Great atmosphere and location, and plenty of parking. Only suggestion I would give is to have (a bit more) welcoming approach and a good smile on your faces. Paying customers will definitely appreciate it. I didn’t feel that welcome and hence the 4 Stars. Will definitely try again. Updated after a bad experience : I have been ordering from Aangan since my first visit via Menulog. Every time they deliver the food, it was found Cold and left outside. Tasted great though. Tonight, (05/01/2025) I gave special instructions to Ring the Doorbell on delivery and wasn’t done as instructed 😡😡. Food was again found left outside and cold, Wrong order was delivered, no apologies or messages. Removed a couple of Stars and will wait for the response from the team.

Went on a Friday night. Place wasn't cleaned as it might have been on a weekend maybe? Wasn't that bad but the dim lighting, sticky menu and bug in the water glass was a turn off. The Service staff were attentive though and addressed what they could. Food was pretty tasty. Just be warned that their "medium" spicy is still pretty spicy. The chicken thing we got was really good. So was the lamb. The price is worth the food but the dim lighting and non stop punjabi songs in the background made the atmosphere very poor. Maybe more suitable for takeaway? We're unlikely to go back again but I've heard the Bundoora branch is better. Might give that one a shot.

We almost tried all Angan restaurant branches in Melbourne. Tonight was my wife birthday and we loved to eat dinner in a Angan branch. Luckily we found ourselves near to Cragieburn branch. We ordered non-veg platter which was mix of different types of shish kebab, chicken 🍗, fish 🐟, lamb 🐑 and some sort of koobidah kebab. Easily enough for 4 people while in other branches you might not see that much of kebabs in one platter. Anyway Our starter was Samosa Chat which is our favorite 🤩 in any Angan restaurant. Now we are coming back home with heaps of food leftovers which is enough for another proper meal.🥘
