Worst food we have had in point cook so far, and that is an already low bar. Service was very slow, had to wait for 5 minutes at the counter to have my order taken (no-one else was waiting, just me). Drinks took a very long time to arrive, food time was ok. Atmosphere is ok with a decent view. Less than half the tables were occupied at Sunday lunch, which is nice until you realise that makes the slow service so much worse. Drinks: Iced chocolate - they mixed a little coffee cocoa into milk and put some ice blocks on top. No sweetness at all, and milk was not cold. Coco was also very weak. Fresh OJ - I don't know, they didn't have any today. Strawberry Milk - I can't really explain this. It's Barbie pink, and tastes just as plastic and fake as I imagine Barbie would be too. If I was colourblind and wasn't told what the drink was I would have never guessed it was strawberry. Sickly fake sweetness with no real flavour. Food: Eggs Benedict with mushrooms - ok, safe choice. Buttermilk pancakes with berry compote - The pancakes are small and thick, actually quite nice. Needs something with it to enjoy which is a shame because the berry compote is more of a light smear on the side than anything substantial. I used all of it on the first bite of the pancakes. The rest of the pancakes were dry as a result. Also, since when are slices of mandarins considered berries? Hash browns side - they are just buying supermarket hash browns, how hard can it be to get these right? Just heat in a pan or air fryer. Instead they have deep fried them (good) in really old oil (bad) so all you can taste is bad oil. Recommendation: go...

Took my family after kids basketball today, and as we were 7 of us we asked for larger table. Sadly, the one large had a young lad sitted playing videos on his mobile phone, and we were shown the corner tables, tried to join other table to find the whole group, it did work well. So we suggested and one of the ladies said yes we can take the large table, she requested the young boy to move, and she confirmed to us that it was the BOSS' son and that's what we were not initially allowed to sit on that specific table. The use of the term boss didn't go down well with me and family and being a paying customer decided we ain't goner be subjected to that mentality. Customers come first and need to feel respected when they come with their hard earned cash. Never to return again as long as they use terms like boss and suggest the sons either help at the back with dishes or play games at home and complete school homework. Requesting for assistance is no intimidation, and not at anytime our family members spoke with the young lad. No attitude was shown to you but or stuff but we asked to sit where we could fit and have our meals comfortable. All of us work with children and for you to talk as if we judging anyone is sad. We left because we took the option of not arguing but show the point that no was needs to stand terms like boss's son. Food is served at different locations and happy to go use money hard earned cash where I feel appreciated respected and not...

Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend

Unfortunately, this cafe fell short on multiple fronts during our visit.

Food Quality: The food was quite poor overall. The bread quality was particularly disappointing - even their sourdough appeared to be day-old or stale. The kids meal came with low-quality white bread that seemed mass-produced rather than fresh.

Beverages: The latte was mediocre at best - nothing special and certainly not worth the price point.

Service Issues: The staff provided no cutlery with the children's meal, forcing us to use full-sized utensils which made eating difficult for the kids. More concerning was the staff's attitude throughout our visit, which came across as unwelcoming and unprofessional.

Overall: Between the subpar food quality, basic beverages, and poor service attitude, this cafe doesn't deliver on what you'd expect from a dining establishment. There are better options in the area that provide both quality food and friendly service.

The cafe is in a cost cutting spee which is well reflected in their food.

I have been coming here for years and the food and coffee have always been good. There must have been a change in ownership or something?. This would be the worst breakfast I've ever had! The plate had oil all over it and i had to mop it up with the napkin, I asked for a side plate as the food was piled onto a small plate, so you couldn't move anything around without it falling off onto the table. The bread was stale and the scrambled eggs were firm, oily and tasteless. The bacon was rock hard and looked/felt like it had been in an oven for hours. The hash browns were oily and overcooked and had broken ends on both of them, i didn't even try to finish any of the breakfast. I thought at least the coffee would be good, but no it was bitter. This place used to be full for breakfast every day, i knew something was off when it was empty at 9 am on a Wednesday. I had to go to Maccas as i was still hungry, sad when a macMuffin is preferable to a cafe breakfast.

📍 Alamanda Cafe – Just a heads-up The front counter staff seemed a bit unfriendly — no smile or warm attitude, which made the service feel quite cold. I ordered a large takeaway latte for $7, but the cup was surprisingly small — about the size of a fist. Not trying to be mean, just sharing my experience in case someone else is thinking of grabbing a coffee here. ☕ Thank you for your response. As a customer, I felt that your reply came across a bit defensive — which I can understand — but it didn’t really acknowledge my experience or offer any apology or empathy. I understand the cup may technically hold 12oz, but my feedback was mainly based on the visual impression and overall feeling as a customer. That said, I do appreciate the clarification and your invitation to come back. I hope future visits will feel more positive and welcoming.

We headed to this place by chance and realised that we actually did a good thing by choosing this place for our coffee and late lunch. Here a few reasons why I love the place- 1. great hospitality- the owner of the cafe ensures she takes the orders of the clients, looks after their needs, ensures her staff look after the customers, and intuitively know when we need anything. 2. fast delivery of food ordered to the table. Speedy service. 3. No compromise on taste. the food is super delicious and the decoration of the plate is beautiful. 4. Good and sizeable portion of food served. 5. Very beautiful and scenic location of the cafe with river views, greenery and amisdt nature. Hence definitely consider Alamanda Cafe as one of your top go-to cafes, and you will never regret it.
