Pint Size Indian — Restaurant in Melbourne

Hi folks, Thought Friday would be the Pint size and checked in but later we realised shouldn’t have been there.

Food was so stale, I know it was busy but if you can’t handle the tables should have said at the entry itself.

Ordered non veg platter(tasteless, burnt, few of them are like half cooked) The mint chutney that they served for the platter was around 15-20ml may be(served again upon request with the same portion) Pls work on the portion at least on chutneys.

We called the lady ( she might be the lady boss I guess)explained the thing n then she replaced few of them with cooked meat. (thanks to lady owner)

Guys it was just a beginning and then we got the Mains. Order spicy paneer curry but received sweet tomato gravy with 8-9 paneer pieces in it along with some cooked onions too🙄 Again informed the spice levels took the curry back and added chilli flakes and got on to the table(this time thanks to lady boss, chef and waitress too)

Orders 1butter roti(got half piece and the other half might be resting in the kitchen🤣, when I asked for the other half, the good waitress realised and got the other half quickly.(thanks to waitress)

Ordered 2 Garlic naan, we barely found the garlic on it (again we asked and served with extra garlic, now this time with bonus a hint of coriander too on it)

ordered 1 cheese naan, I think this time chef worked very well on the cheese naan after lot many failures (thanks to chef who made the cheese naan)

Finally this amazed me, I think he’s the owner he asked me how’s the food while we were managing to fill tummies with the altered food, I explained the whole story to him, without any regret he went to the kitchen and unattended, how careless.

Boss You making money if n only if customers comes in. I know if I’m not others do come n visit but show some response man! You’re not serving for free isn’t? every customer pays so be responsible man!

You(owner) might be very red by now, just imagine and you be in my shoe and think. All you get now why I took time to write this.

I recently visited your restaurant for the second time, hoping for a better experience than my first. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing and fell short of expectations.

We ordered the Chowmein Noodles and specifically asked if the spice level could be adjusted, as my partner is sensitive to spicy food. The menu indicated a medium spice level, and when we inquired, the staff assured us that it would be only mildly spicy and manageable. However, the dish turned out to be extremely spicy—so much so that we were sweating after just a few bites. It was uncomfortable and inedible for us.

We appreciate that the staff offered to replace the dish, but due to time constraints (we had a movie to catch), we couldn’t wait for a replacement. Also, staff was informed beforehand regarding the time limit. Despite barely touching the food (only 2–3 spoonfuls), we were still charged, which added to our disappointment.

Given that this was our second visit and we had experienced issues during the first visit as well, we were genuinely hoping for a better outcome this time. Unfortunately, this experience has left us feeling regretful for returning. We believe the situation could have been handled more thoughtfully by the staff, and customer service should be more accommodating and empathetic.

Additionally, I would recommend reviewing the preparation of cocktails. The drinks we were served lacked balance and seemed to have an overpowering amount of alcohol, indicating a possible need for a more experienced bartender.

I recently hosted a milestone birthday at Pintsize, and the entire experience—from the initial planning to the final payment—was handled beautifully.

Maulshree was a huge help throughout the process. Even though I was organizing everything on Whatsapp, she made it feel effortless with her prompt responses, thoughtful suggestions, and genuine support.

The event itself was a breeze. The food was outstanding, with vegan options available — I’m still getting compliments about the Halwa and Eggplant Masala (which I’ll definitely be coming back for!).

The service was efficient and professional, and I didn’t have to step in or manage anything during the event. That allowed me to enjoy the celebration fully, which is rare as a host!

A special mention to Devyani (the decorator) and Mandy (the DJ) as well—they were super easy to work with and managed everything on their end smoothly.

The payment and wind-down process was just as seamless. Everything was well-organized, and the team handled it with ease.

I am definitely visiting again—probably with more people in tow!
