Augustus Gelatery + Acai Epping — Restaurant in Melbourne

I was really contemplating about leaving a review as I am not one to put down a local business in anyway shape or form but after todays experience I just had to make it aware. Being a regular consumer as I do enjoy some of the products from this establishment, I was appalled when being met with such disappointing customer service. Having my fair share of jobs you learn a thing or 2 about basic standards for customer service which are: eye contact, a welcoming greeting such as hi, hello or how may I help and perhaps a smile… not even in the slightest did I feel welcome nor wanted in this particular store. It felt as though the staff were being held there against their will and god forbid you ask them to take your order where you are met with an eye roll and attitude. A simple task yet it seems as if I have asked them to dig for gold!!! Staff should receive adequate training on creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy as I’m sure this hot weather can be faced with some angry customers especially when being treated as such. To add on that note I witnessed and have been victim of waiting for your turn only to be pushed back and serve the new comers. I had a terrible experience at Augustus Ice Cream Shop and won’t be coming back. I went there specifically for an açaí, only to be told that they couldn’t serve me because they had already shut down the machine for the day. Disappointed, I reluctantly ordered ice cream instead, even though it wasn’t what I wanted.

As I sat there eating, I watched in disbelief as the staff proceeded to make açaí bowls—for themselves! It was infuriating to see that they could use the machine for their own purposes but refused to serve a paying customer.

This is a blatant display of unprofessionalism and poor customer service. If the machine was “closed,” it should have been closed for everyone, not just paying customers. I won’t be wasting my time or...

Wide range of ice cream flavours. Great service. Staff were friendly and efficient and very patient with us trying the amazing flavours. The app is fun too and it give information on promotions and specials as well as new flavour. You can collect points on the app. Portions were very generous. Beautiful decor and location. I havent tasted all the flavours however the flavours we tasted were very good. I would go back again and again to try new flavours. They have generous portions of Acai and frozen yogurt which was great value for money. My kids love the cold season specials like the cookie and brownie. Overall...
