We went to Aussie ADDA on May 24, 2025, Saturday, around 6:15pm. Now I am mentioning time/ date specifically as your experience might not be the same as ours. We tried 2 sweet items, Firni and Lassi. Both came with perfect amount of sweetness and thickness and homemade flavor. None of these items had unnecessary jafran/ nuts/ color. We have ordered kolija singara, moglai porata, chotpoti, and polao roast. Kolija singara came with good amount of kolija inside and with tomato sauce. Moglai was crunchy, with enough eggs inside, green chilli and a side of thinly sliced carrots, cucumber and chilli. Chotpoti tasted like chotpoti, not pani puri or lentils soup. Chotpoti came with tangy gravy, some crunch on top and green chilli inside. Polao was tasty (not spicy), chicken roast had the taste of real Bangladeshi flavor, with perfect amount of gravy and beresta ( fried onion). My 8 year old son could eat this dish. Cherry on top was the tea, which tasted great in cold Melbourne evening. We got our food within 5 min of us ordering, and with a smile. The food was undoubtedly fresh and tasty.

Update: we went there again, on a Friday around 8pm. It was super busy. We have seen big groups waiting. But the restaurant didn’t compromise with the taste of the food. Our food came out quick. This time we tried vuna khichuri, tehari , moglai, kolija shingara, lassi, chomchom, kalojam and roti( a lot, I know!!). Whoever is making the roti, that person knows how to make roti for sure, it was fluffy and fresh! Vuna khichuri and tehari both were good in taste and flavor. Finally I would like to say to the bad reviews, if you have any issues with the food/ service or anything else, try to talk to the person who is serving you rather than bad-mouthing...

Tbh went to try Bangladeshi food but ended up being disappointed and offended. Customer service was so bad. Secondly they don’t know how to treat customers equally and how things works. When they opened, I was the first customer to put on order. Lot of people came after me, ordered, and they got served, every food was coming out except for ours (although we also ordered the same food.) Being their first customer of the day we were served at the end. And also i had to take my dish takeaway because it already got cold yet the rice didn’t arrived. One thing that surprised me was when I went to them to tell that I want to cancel the rice as my food is already cold, they are like okay with that. What I really felt was being there with my friends and we all are of same age and we are students so they were just ignoring us and had a attitude “We don’t care about you guys, we will only treat customers good who comes with a family”

Just one advice for them is “Every customers pay the same price so treat them equally and try to follow first come first serve” But if you feel you don’t need customers like us then good-luck

For the experience I got , neither I am going again nor I am recommending anyone about this restaurant because I left with an empty stomach

!!And the funniest part was they seemed fine seeing that we are...

Food was good but they need to work on the quantity and their customer service.

For similar price, every other bengali restaurant provides good proportion for the value paid but I’d have certainly ignored that if they had good customer service, they badly need to improve customer service. They lack professionalism and empathy towards customers, literally took 40-50 mins to provide plain rice whereas they provided the curry with it within 15-20minutes so the curry got cold. Meanwhile, everyone even the ones who came after us was served.

No one’s there as the FOH since everyone literally goes to kitchen once your order is taken or only back when they’d be serving, so even if you need em’ or look for them, you’d have to wait.

As much as I do understand it’s a family venture, but they need to improve in these areas, cause when we have a good experience regarding a place, which we did earlier regarding a bengali restaurant, we literally talked about it or went regularly with our friends cause we appreciate and would like these businesses to survive and do well.

If you want to taste it , you may go , but certainly not a place I’d visit again since there are good alternative who provide value for bucks and has good customer service which...

Today I checked out Aussie Adda Cafe and Restaurant for the first time, and I have to say — it was a really good experience. We ordered Chotpoti, Muglai, Tehari, Polau with roast, Beef Kala Bhuna, handmade roti and tea. Everything tasted great and had that authentic Bangladeshi flavour. The only dish that felt a little off was the Beef Kala Bhuna — it tasted more like Beef Jhal Bhuna, but it was still enjoyable. The amount of food with this price was more than enough for one person. Infact I would say, the price is very reasonable. It took 15-20 minutes to serve the food. Customer service was good too. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed a lot of Bangladeshi restaurants popping up in Melbourne. Some of them have already shut down, and many others have slowly lost their authenticity. It’s a bit disappointing when they start adding Indian-style flavours to traditional Bangladeshi dishes. That’s not what I look for when I’m craving food from back home. But this place? It really reminded me of true Bangladeshi cooking. I hope they keep it up! I’d definitely recommend giving their food a try and supporting them so they can continue serving proper Bangladeshi flavours.

Disregard the pathetic 1 star reviews. Some of these third class Bangalis don’t understand how much they can ruin someone’s genuinely good business with thoughtless 1 star ratings. One of these reviews gave 1 star despite stating that the food was tasty. My wife and I almost decided not to eat here because of these reviews. I am extremely glad that we were wrong. The food AND service was fantastic. Piping hot fresh food came out in less than 20 minutes. Flavour and freshness on point. Mughlai porota was perfectly crunchy with complementary fresh cucumber, coriander and chilli. Tehari came with tender small beef cuts - needing only a spoon to eat, easy to keep hands clean. 5 star from me - could use with a designated hand washing station otherwise the food and service is excellent. The price was excellent as well with 2 meals for $35 including 2 cups of cha. Please, ektu sabr rakho (keep your patience for those not familiar with Bangla), if it is busy just understand they are trying their best. When we left we saw every table full with large families so keep in mind your service may be delayed. Thanks for the great food! We will be back. :)
