The customer service leaves a lot to be desired! Not worth it. One or two inexperienced staffers apparently were offended first by one of our party who couldn’t understand why they couldn’t accomodate our request for two of our party with disabilities and second by another one of our party giving gentle feedback that a little empathy would be appreciated and welcomed. On hearing about the staff member apparently feeling attacked/offended, I personally spoke to a more senior looking staff male member to offer our apology if we had made anyone feel uncomfortable it was not our attention. The female manager though was not going to let whatever she thought we had done slide and further requests to be moved either away from the very loud live band playing was meet with NO, although other customers seemed to have been moved. After a few further requests we were moved. As other tables freed up we wanted to move from where we were, where the fans weren’t really helping, to somewhere a little cooler and I wanted to get the small child an icecream to help alleviate the discomfort of the heat. As I approached the service bar, I heard 2/3 staff members talking and bad mouthing my group saying that we again wanted to move, that again we were being aggressive and they made a phone call to the owner. They came back and the male staff member told me that with the owner’s approval they would not serve us anymore. To be treated like that after giving a sincere apology to show good faith and just wanting to feel comfortable enough to enjoy our surroundings and food was uncalled for. Its a pity because we like to support the smaller wineries but this is not one, it seems, to appreciate it.
The the owner, I know that you have to support your staff and if they ring you to say they have abusive clients you have to act to support them but let me say we were not abusive nor threatening we just wanted to understand why our requests were being ignored and/or why we were being given conflicting information and why were were treated with contempt even after apologising. We tried to enjoy your food and ambience. Your manager in particular was we believe overwhelmed with running the business that day and her default...
Read moreDisgraceful customer service. I’m shocked and disgusted by the attitude of the restaurant manager. We booked a table on AFL Friday, specifically requested one of the outdoors picnic tables which the website said was available. The booking was confirmed via both email and text. After 1 hour drive, we showed up at our booking time and I was told we have to sit at a completely different spot near the extremely loud music that we had to scream to talk to each other because ‘thats just what is available’ ??? We spotted an empty picnic table and asked the manager if we could sit there as thats what we booked for and was told that we can’t because someone else has made a booking for it. We made the very same booking and showed up first but that table must be for someone else for some reason??
The most disgusting thing is the attitude from the manager. When we showed up and realised that have double booked our table and has given it to someone else, instead of apologising and trying to find a solution to accommodate us. Her attitude was ‘this is the table you were given take it or leave it’ and suggested for us to ‘just cancel the booking’ if we didn’t wanna sit at the table that we DID NOT book for and didn’t book because we didn’t want to sit in that area. I saw the booking sheet that she was holding and it says ‘picnic table’ as a note of my booking. There is no disclaimer in the confirmation email or text that says my booking can be given to anyone else at anytime. We wouldn’t have booked here if we had known this.
We then had to drive around for an hour afterwards before we can find somewhere else to get lunch because everywhere else was fully booked due to it being a public holiday. This experience has completely...
Read moreAdvertised as open till 5, if you arrive at 3 and wait at the ‘wait here to be seated’ sign’ you’ll be waiting indefinitely. Walk around after 5 or so minutes and ask someone if they work there (hard to tell as super casual dressed) and could we get a table and something to eat. We were told ‘you’re very lucky, it closes in 5 minutes’ and we ordered a couple of pizzas and a salad. We were shown to a table that obviously hadn’t been cleaned and had a high chair there, obviously baby had been having a go at feeding itself. Not sure why we couldn’t sit at any other tables as there was only 1 other party there, the entire place was empty and freezing cold, the new lovely open fire must just be for weekends? The table was too wobbly to sit at so we moved over to one that didn’t. By 3:30 our meals had arrived and were really good! The sparkling white was about 6/10 and there were no alcohol free options outside of soft drink. But hard to enjoy as that horrible sound of chairs scraping across the floor in an empty echoing room as they were all being packed up and put upside down on the tables all around us like it was 2am and closing time at the pub. The lovely views with floor to ceiling glass are interrupted by a 10cm strip of white frosting that sees you constantly moving your head below or above it to try and look at the vineyard. If you’re after the ‘Macca’s of vineyards’ this is it, bring the kids. But if you’re on a date, stick to Tarrawarra, Chandon...
