The service was very terrible. Waiting in a line of 4 because the operator taking orders wasn’t sufficiently trained in using the till and understanding what was being said so it took forever to put through a single person took 10 minutes initially. We ordered and sat down in the cafe. One coffee we ordered was suppose to be a large and when addressed the female smiled at my husband and gushed as if to say oh sorry but I’m not gonna do anything about it. I am a regular coming to the cafe and can say wholeheartedly the coffee is consistently amazing and I specifically come to the cafe for this and the homemade sausage rolls so imagine waiting 30 minutes for a sausage roll that came from a box x3. During the long time we spent in the cafe the coffees were prompt (charging $3.50 for a babycino though is ridiculous) and the table service was very poor you can only get service by attending the cashier again which is very frustrating when you have young children. There was plenty of staff to delegate one to ensuring their customers seated were taken care of and the tables were promptly cleared to ensure the cleanliness of the cafe. The final straw was the big breakfast ordered which also took 30 minutes to arrive which was served stone cold and cost $28. A huge disappointment. This cost approx $70 for 4 coffees, a babycino, big breakfast(barely) and 3 frozen sausage rolls. Don’t change the menu if you can’t keep giving regulars...
Read moreNot having visited before so not aware of the quirks of ordering and being seated, the queue was out past the gift shop. One person in our group queued to be seated at a table. The seating is allocated at the register and the person at the register told them they should order for us all because otherwise we’d have to queue again for 30 mins to order. So we all quickly picked a meal, eany meany miny mo style from a photo of the menu. We were seated next to a big group in an alcove which was incredibly noisy. To order extra drinks we had to queue again. I’ve never attended a restaurant or cafe that does not allow guests to sit and peruse the menu prior to ordering. My sticky pork salad was delish and the Arancini were good, the rest of the meals were ok but not +$20 value. My coffee was 3rd worst coffee I’ve ever had. There’s better ways of doing things to be more efficient. There were plenty of front of house staff so I don’t understand why someone couldn’t seat people. Not a cafe I’m going...
Read moreService + staff were friendly, efficient, clean, warm, welcoming. They made sure our table + chairs were spotlessly clean before seating us. Orders are taken at the front counter + paid in advance. My friend had a homemade pie + side salad. I had toastie (ham + cheese) + side salad. The best salad I've eaten anywhere due to the top quality of fresh ingredients + a refreshing dressing. The cafe filled up rather quickly + even though every table was filled by the time we were finished, the noise levels from each table was very respectable. It was a pleasant change to be eating in a cafe where you aren't subjected to overly loud patrons or screeching of chairs dragged in + out. Everyone seemed to respect everyone, talking + laughing in quiet relaxed tones. When we finished eating, the staff collected our dishes + once we up to leave, I noticed the table + chairs were given another thorough clean. Very impressive...
