Mon night steak night - No-one allocated to seat diners. Had to wait for the only waitress taking orders to finish before we were seated. Lucky I brought my walking stick otherwise was ready to collapse standing there waiting. We were seated and no-one brought water and menus to the table. Other people seated after us got water and menus first. Had to stop a passing waiter and ask for water and menus. Very poor service- no allocated waiter/waitress to our table. We stopped another waitress asked for bread rolls and were given stale bread rolls. They charged .50c ea for stale square buns. We ordered a garlic pizza and wedges. Wedges were great, pizza was 4/10. Ordered porterhouse - med well and medium. Medium with gravy and other with mushrooms sauce. They mixed up the steaks and gave medium to wrong person. Steaks were both over cooked- one charred on bottom - both had inedible grizzle on ends. The medium was over cooked and only the thickness part was medium the rest was well- done. We asked for crispy chips and did not get crispy chips, they were flavourless and first time ever we did not eat them on both plates. After informing the waiter at checkout very politely that we are unhappy with the meal and the lack of service - he apologised to me but the chef who came to listen decided to deny that the steak I ate was not part well and part medium and basically said the steaks were given to the wrong person. No apology no kind words. I did not want to argue with him by telling him I am also am a restauranteur and know what I am talking about - I informed them we were not coming back again and paid the $85 bill and left. Read moreThis restaurant (not function facility ) has changed dramatically no longer a great place to eat and value for money On my table a couple of us ordered the porterhouse steak $45 it was ordered as medium rare and came out much closer to well done. Also the steak tasted and looked like it was pre-cook and finished off apon ordering. I know because I have worked in hospitality alot can not be fooled. It was dry and crusty and had no freshly cooked juices on it and usually meat like this doesn’t hold its heat and is served much more at room temp. Because its ability to hold a cook temperature is compromised due to being slightly cook earlier. The salad on the plate was not a safe as it was a clump of lettuce with a drizzle of some ready made dressing. Without seasoning. I thought a salads were made in a bowl and properly dressed and seasoned then put on a plate as the menus said salad not lettuce side. The minimal chips on the plate were so seasoned and came out as if they had been cooked twice. It’s sad that $45 get you this poor quality as money is not easily made anymore or able to be saved. Read moreBooked for 14 of us for a family event. No one came to our table at all until we called them out. Entrees came out pretty fast. Mains took nearly 1.5hrs. Mind you it was a very quiet night. All the while we were watching the chefs lean back and chatting. All other tables had been served and got their food before us. Two of our guests decided to refund their items and leave because their kids were getting restless, hungry and tired. When we asked the waitress where our meals are, the chefs finally started working. Mains came out straight away after that, well after 8pm. Because it was so late we asked if we could have our meals as takeaway because we live 1.5hrs away, they said no due to potential food poisoning reasons. While I understand that, we wouldn't be asking for takeaway if you actually gave us our food in a reasonable time.
To top it off. They don't split bills. So someone had to pay the $800 bill out of their own pocket and we had to transfer money to them.
