Rather disappointed sadly, had a really great hot chocolate there yesterday which was pleasent, the staff member was very friendly and decided to come back with 2 colleagues. We paid at the counter and told the lady our seat, unfortunately after several customers had been served we realised the drinks weren't coming. Turns out they had been placed in takeaway mugs and left on the counter, an honest mistake I can understand but to get the young staff member who was out the back cooking to be the ones to hand us the now cold drinks was really sad to see, she apologised on behalf of the Cafe though not her fault but we refused to now have our cold drinks which thankfully we remade but not after the lady who served us from behind the counter decided to go on her break and not even say anything on her way out, just hung her head. Interestingly one immediate lovely visit was then followed by a really rather tainted one. Being a barista is hard, lots of orders but customer service is the staple product you...
Read moreHad Jeslyn serve me today, she was incredibly warm and bubbly and went well above and beyond any customer service i have encountered.
I ordered a coffee with an unusual twist as i normally like it, she looked up at me and questioned my choice of drink in a manner that was so friendly but funny as though I'm the crazy one... Although she couldn't quite wrap her head around my order so before they made my coffee she immediately offered that if it tasted yuck that she would replace it straight away. (Very kind and thoughtful) "Dont knock it until you try it though ;)"
At the same time she noticed a song with explicit language was on, as soon as she heard it she ran to change the channel so all the customers in the cafe could stay relaxed and cosy in their seats.
Choco bean will be my new regular coffee shop going forward! Hopefully jeslyn is there to provide the same positive experiences that Ive gained from today :)
P.s. its been a long day, she has made it a...
Read moreFirst off, the coffee and service here are great however it's not enough to warrant a better rating.
My experience with the food was disappointing for a number of reasons.
Firstly is the cost. Like everyone else, I understand the costs of running a business have increased, however nearly $10 (assuming the coffee I got was $5.50 - $6.00) for a ham and cheese sandwich is ridiculous, considering other places in the area do coffee + sandwich / croissant combos for less.
What is even more ridiculous is for that price, I don't think it's too much to ask for the sandwich to actually be decent. Instead, it was served on STALE bread. It's disappointing from a food service standard that someone thought that the quality of the food was ok to serve.
Avoid anything from the display cabinets, even if you are getting takeout. It's overpriced and...
