We moved to Seaford in May and have been to the cafe frequently. I don’t like the coffee, I have had it twice and haven’t been able to drink it both times, tastes like ash tray. My husband thinks it’s fine and likes to take the kids for babychinos, the baby chinos always take so long to come out, longer than the adults coffees and food. But they do have a straw in them which the kids love. The chairs don’t meet the tables height and aren’t comfortable, the owner told us to not let our son lean on them because they flip forward and he would crack his skull open. Maybe just get appropriate chairs for your tables? The staff have always been nice, the owner was there this morning, I’m only assuming it was his partner and child with him. His partner told him that the child was waiting for him in the van and was hitting the window with a stick because he was taking too long. He spoke to her like crap and said to “take the stick off her then . . Are you serious?” In front of multiple people in the cafe, she didn’t seem alarmed so I’m guessing this is normal behaviour for him. It left a bad taste in me and my husbands mouth so we won’t be back. The young guy at the front is nice, he just tries to cut your order off with “is that everything” before you’ve finished...
Read morenice coffee & delicious bagels! Seriously delicious bagels. I wanted to give them 4-5 stars but the few times I've gone there, all the staff have been really friendly except the baristas, so I've stopped going (which sucks because they kind of have the monopoly on good coffee & food in the area). Editing to provide further context: the staff who serve you at the counter are warm & friendly, whereas the baristas seem like they don't want to be there. When the barista/s have called my order out, I wasn't sure if they'd pass it to me, nor could I see them, was just told "they're over there" (behind the machine where you can't see them) & it's just done really coldly. It's hard to explain but I used to work in hospo and I wouldn't dream of just pointing to something for a customer to collect without so much as a friendly smile. Maybe other people have had other experiences but mine...
Read moreI run a little coffee kiosk at Seaford Train Station and I get my beans from Josh at Coffee For The People and not only do I love the beans but so do all my regular customers, there would be rioting if I even thought about changing. The beans are steady as a rock and I rarely have to make any adjustments which is quite amazing in itself as the kiosk is open to the elements which could play havoc with way the beans run, but the single origin Colombian Popayan Supremo beans that I buy from Josh handle the changing weather conditions with ease. I love them and only if Josh ever comes up with a bean that he thinks is better than what I currently buy from him - I'm never...
