Cranny Boys Pizza - Cranbourne West — Restaurant in Melbourne

I never thought I’d find a pizza shop that would get such a low review from me. One star given purely for the great service but the food was atrociously bad and deserved no stars. We got a large Mr T seafood pizza and hot jam donuts for dessert. Both were inedible and are now feeding the worms. I prefer a thin and crispy pizza crust but I also accept a soft and doughy crust can be good too. This one was neither. It was bland and had the consistency of over microwaved bread. The toppings, on the other hand, had such a strong rancid flavour that we couldn’t bear it. I don’t know what exactly was passed it’s used by date, but something definitely was. There was a yucky combination of overly sweet and vinegary flavours. I tried to taste the toppings individually to pinpoint it but it seemed the whole lot was tainted. For the $20 price of this “gourmet” pizza I expected better than literally the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my whole life. I was hoping the saving grace would be the hot jam donuts but I was sorely disappointed there too. They were heavily saturated with the oil and overcooked, so I’m guessing the oil wasn’t at the right temperature. I have just had a custom-made pizza from these guys. They treated me like long-lost family despite it being my first-ever visit. Well.

Now to the Pizza... It is the best I've had.

I order the same combination at every place I visit, and it gives me a great benchmark to assess the product and taste.

The base was fluffy and tasted beautifully fresh. The ingredients were fresh, generous and evenly distributed so that the flavours worked together, providing that sensory experience which comes from great food.

"Just a pizza" you say?

Think again.

Having tasted gazillions of pizzas... you know when you've got a good one.

I was not asked to provide this review, and I have let the meal "go down", and am very happy with my choice.

Guys, you have a new regular customer. Thank goodness you are local, no need to drive for half an hour to buy a pizza.

Firstly let me say I've ordered from here plenty, and for pick up never had an issue. But the last two online orders for delivery have both been delivered 30mins late, with the food soggy and with major issues. First time we got the wrong pasta meaning my mum had to wait 30mins for her dinner after the rest of us ate, and tonight the kids cheese pizza was M.I.A meaning my toddler gets to eat some chips while they wait beyond their bedtime for something to eat. It just arrived while I write this review, it's cold (less of an issue for a toddler but for any adult you'd be livid).
