I grew up in Northcote and since as young as I remember I have been coming to Danny's. Danny's is an institution and if you haven't been you are seriously missing out. Forget all these fancy burger joints with 30 types of buns and 30 types of meat patties, the Danny's institution holds on to it's origins and humbly approaches it's burgers like we are back in the 70's / 80's going to that little corner joint to get a hamburger with the lot, the type of hamburger that dreams are made of, made by Greeks at the local fish and chip shop. If you miss the nostalgia of a good old Fish & Chip style burger then Danny's is the place to be, that said you can't visit Danny's and not get the steamed Dim Sims drowned in 3 litres of soy sauce and curing a drunks hangover since 1971. My friends, Danny's is an institution and if you haven't visited the place after getting a few too many into you at the pub, you are seriously missing out on one of the great rites of passage. Come join the many others before you who have survived a massive night out on the beers and lived to tell the tale thanks to Danny's amazing burgers and Dim Sims. Jokes aside Danny's makes one of the meanest burgers and lots of options to bump that bad boy up with an increase in the amount of patties, I once did a four patty burger at this place and all I can say is if you are what you eat than that would explain mooing for about one week straight after eating that bad boy.m, I didn't feel like meat for at least one month. Great value for money and Danny's is always consistent, Staff always friendly and always good little chit chats when they are not serving customers back to back during peak times. Highly recommended and definitely rated as one of my top burger choices...

Picture this: You’ve been at the beach all day with your Grandparents, it’s the peak of summer in QLD in 00’ and you go to the local milk bar for juicy hamburgers with the lot and milkshakes (in those palm tree patterned cardboard takeaway cups- always) to eat by the river. You’re covered in mosquito bites and salt- but nothing can take the pleasure away from this breathtaking burger in front of you.
I’ve been searching for the perfect balance of meat, condiment and bun for 3 years and I have found sanction within Danny’s. A simple white bun with all the quintessential extras at your hearts desire (I’m talking fried eggs, pineapple, bacon and beetroot etc.) Not too much sauce and not too little.
FINALLY a chicken burger option that is grilled (preserves the juiceness) and not fried into oblivion. Other menu items include OG steak sandwiches, hamburgers with the lot, 2x veg burger options and B&E rolls etc.
I am fed up with these over the top, americanised hipster joints. I don’t want that 600cm high, Mac and cheese fried gimmick. GIMME the burger that will transport me back to my childhood and is stacked to perfection.. 5 STARS AND THANK...
Read moreWorst burger and chips I have had in my life, no joke. I used to come here every week when I lived in the area a few years ago, and recently moved back. I celebrated with a triple lot and large chips takeaway. Most of the chips were dark brown - on the edge of burnt, and yet were somehow soggy. There was 1 chip in the entire thing with a hint of crispiness. The burger was completely inedible. It had been double salted at a minimum, meaning after a few mouthfuls I started to feel sick and I had to throw it away I have NEVER thrown a burger out in my life. I'm not sure if it was just the saltiness messing with the flavor or if it was the meat itself, but the beef flavor I could taste seemed a bit off. Granted this was a public holiday, but if you can't buy fresh meat and have to resort to over salting spoiled stock then don't open. I mayaswell have thrown my $20 in the trash and won't be recommending this place to...
