This park is fantastic. There's something for nearly everyone. It's got a couple of playgrounds that are fenced and not too old yet. It's got table tennis tables, a skateboard bowl, a few playgrounds for the little ones, a little gazebo (it's pictured in the main photo for this location), plenty of open space to play games on, eat a picnic or just having a snooze while you soak up the sunshine. Parking would have to be one of the cons for this location. There's one street parking all around the park but this doesn't come anywhere near cattering for the numbers that this park attracts.
Another con would be the amount of people that visit on a nice day (or anyday really, particularly sat and Sun) and with parking not fantastic, it can make the beginning of a visit there, frustrating. On the weekends there are dogs galore, with everyone taking them. The majority of people have their dog on a lead etc .. so its no biggie they are therez it's just a lot of people have a reactive dog that is not great in crowds or with other dogs. If this describes your furry friend then this may not be the park for you on the weekends.
There are toilets there and a few so generally there's no wait and if there is, it's never taken long. They are also cleaned on a regular basis. Just down to the shear number of people utilising the loos, they can often seem a bit rank, next time you go hopefully it will be a different story.
I can't speak more highly of this green oasis in the grey, dull city so do yourself a favour and have a timeout...

Read moreOne of Melbourne’s most iconic inner-city parks — and a personal favourite since I was young. Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy is a true gem that offers something for everyone.
