Famous Dumpling Officer Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

Sadly the quality dropped with the new owners. Don't see myself going back there. Chips were cardboard, potato cakes are frozen ones instead of home made like they used to be, i even asked if they were still home made and he said they were(obviously not). The onions rings are crappy little frozen ones instead of the delicious large home made ones. The only half decent thing was the fish. But for that price it should be better than that. Overall, the price has gone up, while the quality has dropped off a cliff. Very sad day. My favourite fish n chip joint for years

In my humble opinion, one star is too high. The chips used to be crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fish used be be a very generous portion, with a delectable crunchy batter. The potato cakes were the best. What happened??? Now, the chips are more yellow than The Simpsons and are inedible. The fish was tiny and tasteless. Potato cakes were okay. Their timing needs work too. They told Hubby it would be ready in 40 minutes, he still went down early to find the shop empty and our order waiting. They apparently packed his souvlaki pack chips in with our twin pack, but lucky we were severely short changed there because they were completely inedible! We hope you can lift your game, but in the meantime we will...

We have been going to Officer Fish n Chips for over 5 years. Staff and management always have a friendly disposition, the quality and freshness of the fish is excellent, we have never been disappointed. Beautiful chips, golden every time, you can tell they change the oil regularly as other peoples chips are brown and unpalatable. They have wonderful combinations of different packs to make ordering super easy when you’re in a hurry! Honestly I’ve tried all the Fish n Chip shops in the area and Officer Fish n Chips ticks all the boxes! By the way the Hamburgers with the lot are epic - better than McDonald’s. Keep up...
