Harry's Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in Melbourne

Got there at 1pm, went inside to order and got asked if it was takeaway, we said no we'd like to sit at a table which was agreed. So our order came out to our table in takeaway bags, no serviettes and a takeaway coffee cup??? Owner said 'can you move chairs cos l want to mop the floor ' we obliged but halfway through eating he came out and closed the front doors where were sitting which left us on the outside of the Cafe, bit rude l thought. Seemed like they were more interested in closing, (there's no closing time on the window) Overall it was poor service, poor food, and giving us food as takeaway when we said we were sitting! really poor, do not bother going here, clearly they're not interested in customers and not afraid of losing business, a slice of arrogance perhaps?? Such a shame, previous owners...

Many times we have breakfast here while waiting for our prescriptions from the pharmacy next door. I ordered again a large skinny milk cappuccino and my Mother a large skinny milk latte with a plate each of delicious toasted fruit bread. We sat outside in the lovely fresh air and the people in the cafe came to our table and took our order. The coffee and food was delicious. The best coffee I have had in ages. A 5 star rating all round for Harry's Cafe & Deli. We will be back when we have more prescriptions in the pharmacy next door. Thank you very much for the great service, food and coffee. Frank and the team deserve 5 stars but the chef lets them down. Food is always below standard, no love or care taken. We’ve decided to just have coffees from now on. The chef walked past us the other day and burped. Couldn’t believe what I heard and he knew customers were sitting right there. He’d be gone yesterday if it were my cafe. Totally unacceptable behaviour especially for a mature aged, experienced chef. We will continue to support Harry’s but only purchase coffee or food that hasn’t been...
