Joe’s Fish Shop — Restaurant in Melbourne

Joe's Fish Shop is not cheap and not that expensive shop. I ordered few items from uber everything looks nice the packaging was nice i got delivered within 40 minutes that’s also okey. But few things I don’t like that there was no seasoning i asked for chicken salt( there’s multiple options for salt)and also there’s no lemon with fish and chip . The batter was smelling weird and it was bit citric ( i also work on a fish and chip so it’feels bit strange for me why the batter is like that).

Warning ⚠️ become fully aware of looking at there menu on line. Looked at a menu which stated $44 for a family of 4. Upon arrival we were told it was $88. Staff member said this was an old menu uploaded by someone online and it is outdated. Well hello the management need to go to there website and check regularly that things are up to date and take down old postings. So they knew it was there and allowed customers to believe that is the current pricing. Could have apologised and offered some small rebate NA. Will not use them...

Joes is our local, but since a few poor meals many years ago, we've avoided them. Today I gave them another try, after all, it's been a long time… surely, they've lifted their game. Nope!

Overcooked, fish in leathery batter. Crumbed Lumps of batter with a soggy sliver of tasteless prawn (supposedly crumbed prawn cutlets). Weirdly yellow, slightly undercooked, and uninspiring chips. Nothing fresh, nothing good about it. Pretty much exactly as it was all those years ago. How do they get these good reviews? People need to get...
