We had booked the restaurant for our grandmothers 70th birthday dinner, due to being a group of 15 we had to do the set menu of $60 per person which was fine.
To say that $60 dollars per person was a rip off is a complete understatement. The ‘entree’ which was some measly cold meats and cold bread was less than appetizing or appealing. the restaurant is a pizza place, the least they could do is serve some hot focaccia or pizzas with entree.
The mains sizing, again were incredibly small. A few pieces of fish, (which were tasty) and some extremely over cooked chewy charcoal meat sitting on wet bed rocket, with a few less than appealing sides was hardly worth a $60 per head or the 45 minute wait between course.
I’d finally like to mention the incredibly rude and unhelpful manager. One of the staff members brought out our grandmothers cake, which we weren’t ready for, the table hadn’t been cleared from our mains (which had been sitting there for at least 20 minutes) , the cake came out with no candles or sparklers (which we had supplied and given to the staff upon arrival to ensure it was done) and when we raised with the manager why the cake was brought over and just dumped on the table like that, the manager replied with “ Is that not good enough for you” and “We let you take photos and do speeches with the cake, what more do you want” ...Let us?
It confused us, as all other surrounding birthdays were being brought out their cakes with candles lit and ready to go.
The whole experience was extremely disappointing and quite shocking. We have been to the restaurant multiple times before and never experienced service or treatment like this from your staff. We live locally and have been making an effort to support small, family run businesses but it’s a shame that a family run business have rude and unhelpful managers on the floor.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to recommend this restaurant to our friends and family who...
Read moreNot one to usually write a review but after my experience tonight I thought it was necessary. The staff were extremely rude and disinterested. When asking what types of scotches they had available the waitress began listing them. When my partner asked if they had a particular type of scotch she abruptly said “well if I didn’t say it, we don’t have it”. The next thing that occurred was ordering 2 cocktails which I waited over half an hour for, before asking the waitress to please check on the status of these drinks. She said she will check and then another 15 minutes went by with no drinks and no update. I then asked the waitresses to cancel this drink order as I no longer wanted it after waiting 45 minutes for it. She rudely said “well let me check if i can cancel it”. She then came back to the table and said “well are you sure because it’s only a minute away from being finished.” I said that no, I did not still want the drinks, and the waitress could not even give a simple apology for making me wait 45 minutes for a drink that I didn’t even end up being able to enjoy. After sitting on the table for at least an hour with no water in any of the jugs, I tried to call the waitress over more than 5 times before someone actually paid attention and came over. When coming over to the table I asked to get some water as we hadn’t had any on the table in ages. Her response was “well you should have just asked.” Once again poor attitude, no apology and just straight out rude. I can understand being a Saturday night staff are busy and under pressure, however I don’t think it takes much to just be kind and have a...
Read moreThe manager took us to our seats and offered still or sparkling water. I asked for regular water. She said she can’t give us regular water because of the spread of the coronavirus but did not explain clearly why. I declined bottled water but was frustrated because I was actually thirsty. I later asked her to explain the reason why we can’t have regular water especially if there are glasses at the table. She then said that she can’t leave the water jugs with us, which I agreed was completely understandable, and she then offered to pour a glass for us which we welcomed. However, there was reluctance to do so and not done in a friendly manner. Poor hospitality especially as we had literally just sat down and it is normal service to pour regular water at this time. It felt as if she was trying to make sales on bottled water without making us feel comfortable first. Our actual waitress later was lovely however, and she repeatedly topped up our water glasses throughout our meal without question. The Chardonnay was lovely. Overall, the agnello (lamb) pasta and pescatora (seafood) pasta mains were overly salty and the lamb was rather dry and chewy. The insalata was a refreshing salad and the tiramisu was lovely. The bosco dessert, although visually underwhelming, tasted great - clove & cinnamon tones complemented a chilly...
