Oh my god, THIS again.
Just needed a few bread rolls for dinner, and I decided to treat myself to one of the big pineapple doughnuts. Yum. Total was 5.60. Easy. Went to tap my phone on their EFTPOS machine, when I was told that I had to pay a 50c surcharge for some reason?
...what? I was flabbergasted. 50c on a 5.60 purchase? That's almost a 9% slug, for what? For daring to use the payment method offered? Of course, I refused. I said I am NOT paying 50c on top of a 5.60 purchase. I'm well aware that this is illegal, that under Australian consumer law, merchants can pass on only the cost of transaction to the customer. No more. For Visa card transactions, this is usually 1 to 2%.
I told them this. They pretended not to understand. I said, if you think I'm paying this patently illegal highway robbery, you're absolutely deluding yourselves. I told them I'd happily pay 2%. They said no, 50c.
So you know what I did? I left my rolls and doughnut, and I went around the corner to Woolworths. I want to support small businesses, but not when you're nakedly ripping off customers for daring to want to pay with a payment method that you...
Read moreI have been getting lunch here almost everyday and always got the rice box.
Prices been rising up, quantity is getting less and less.
On top of that today the lady who served me literally put the smallest cucumber slice they had, almost green looking tomato slice, few pieces of shredded lettuce and carrots.. I had to say something asked nicely if she could put more and she tried to charge me $1 extra for literally a few shredded slices of carrot. For nothing really.
She claimed that she is the owner and she claimed that she has never seen me. Look I literally live a few doors down and I have been coming to your business almost everyday for lunch; this shows your lack of care to your customers.
Never coming back here ever again. You lost at...

She really loaded it up. The bread is low quality (this was at 4pm admittedly) the pickles heavy on the vinegar, and there’s an abundance of lettuce, but overall this thing was delicious. Not the best I’ve had, but gotta support the old school bakeries run by the aging Vietnamese immigrant operators. A great experience, and a very friendly vibe: I highly recommend. $10
Original review: Banh mi for $8. Tried the cold meat and it had a hot meatball! Hoisin sauce. Bread not as fresh as it could have been and not toasted but...
