If you are a big group and are looking to have a stress free time at a restaurant, consider this a cautionary tale. We had a group of 24 booked in for the banquet and they saw that they wanted to put more customers so they told us to wait in the front room where we can just order food at the bar. This was bizarre because we had already booked the banquet, we just moved along. A few people started ordering finger foods from the bar, when 15 mins later they told us that we could sit back in the main area. They gave our two big tables away to other customers and we were left to sort ourselves out. We ended up with 2 smaller tables and I had to sit on a third table with 2 of my friends, separate from everyone else. Again, no wait staff to help us out considering they did this. The wait staff asked if we wanted to do the banquet still and a few people didn't want to do it because they'd already ordered finger foods. The wait staff said no problems and sorted the rest of us out. At the end of the night, the wait staff insisted that we didn't pay for 3 of our friends who had the banquet. This is not true. 2 of the wait staff spent 20-30 minutes arguing and bullying us into paying for 2 extra banquets. This severely tainted our experience and our friend's 30th birthday party. All for the sake of 70 dollars. Mind you we spent hundreds of dollars on their cocktails and drinks. Great business sense. Thanks for the hard sell, bullying, and a memorable experience (not for the right reasons). Hope it was worth the extra 70 dollars you scammed out of us. The food itself was really bland. Please stop doing Asian fusion, Asian food is all about spices and herbs and over the top flavours, not plain and subdued flavours. The eggplant chips, fried tofu, spring rolls were the most bland. Everything else was meh. For a tastier menu, please consider going...
Read moreWe were married at BMH last weekend and it was absolutely perfect! Initially, we searched for venues close to home, with good food and an atmosphere which spoke to us. BMH was hands down the only place which ticked all the boxes. We went in for an inspection and met with Luke who talked us through the catering and setup details, as well as costing and answered any random questions about logistics of having a wedding at BMH. From there, we paid the deposit and booked it all in - we appreciated the thorough yet laid back approach to the wedding planning - we didn’t feel pressured to splash cash as seems to often be the case with weddings these days. About a month before the wedding we had our tasting, with a great variety of foods to cater to the vegans, gluten/dairy free people in the family. We also talked through the logistics and seating for the ceremony, chronology for the wedding and just a general run through all things wedding. On the day - We had our ceremony in front of the entrance doors and greenery wall which was a perfect backdrop - no need to spend extra on floral arrangements because the venue was already beautiful enough. We had a cocktail event for around 70 people and it was the perfect space, with enough seating - benches, stools and lounges, and room for families with kids to run around having a lovely time. Everyone was (very) well fed, had plenty to drink (the punch was very popular, and we ordered 2 more during the function). Luke made our cupcakes (in lieu of a traditional wedding cake), which everyone remarked at being sooo good - we finished the last of them last night and they kept very well. The lane and greenery rooms were lovely settings for photos with the family as well as lovely spaces for our guests. BMH - thank you (especially Luke) for giving us such a beautiful wedding which truly...
Read moreWell, what can I say. My wife and I married there a month ago and it could not have been more perfect. The interior decor is so good that you don't need to splash out for flowers (or a church), as it has a beautiful vaulted ceiling covered in greenery. They took care of everything. All we had to do was organise a celebrant, get our cake delivered, and turn up sober (debatable). The food... My god, the food. Best. Food. Ever. We had so many people comment on how good it was and that it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding, no joke. It was truly outstanding, and we've promised ourselves that we'll go back to eat, not just for sentimental reasons. The service was exceptional. Luke, Zoe, Martine (sorry if I spelt your name wrong!) and all the rest of the staff were so helpful and accomodating. They were present but invisible when serving food/drinks, and everything was very professional without being too formal. Zoe played a great DJ when the crowd decided my tunes were "too eclectic". Squares. Luke is just a joy, and was nothing but helpful and friendly since we first went in there to talk to him about our prospective wedding. 10/10 experience - if you want a cool, funky, unique, and not exorbitantly priced venue to get married with exceptional service and memorable food; get married here. We're considering divorce just so we can go back in there and get married again. Our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the...
