0 stars. Awful experience. Staff were rude and unfriendly. Made us feel we were being discriminated against. Will never go back and do not recommend.
Edited: Thank you for your response Catherine. I can understand that there are RSA requirements, however the behaviour of others in the group (our group consisted of 15 or more) should not have defined me as an individual. I believe I was nothing but polite and understanding to all staff members whom I interacted with.
It was hard to understand how the staff members could assume that another member of our group (whom happens to be caucasian) was not from our group... I was treated very differently from this other member of the group and other visitors that day. I had gone into details in the private email (as requested and I have refrained from posting here).
Nevertheless, it still does not excuse the rudeness or unwelcoming behaviour or attitude received from the staff even from the beginning of the visit.
Edited: Still no response to the above after 5 days. Had asked me to email directly following my initial post to explain what has happened (the initial response was replaced by the response you see now). Initial response requested that I email the business privatly from this post, acting as though they wanted to rectify what had happened. Seems they are only interested in looking like they are trying to rectify the issue and to place blame on me, the reviewer (hence their reply).
There is more than what is posted here. After no response after a few days I assume that my case has been closed.
I still feel like I was discriminated against. The response received does not excuse the attitude I received from staff throughout the whole visit (which consisted of more than 3 or 4 hours +). Still feel that I will never return and will...
Read moreI visited Welcome to Brunswick with friends in April 2025 and absolutely loved the venue. It’s a gorgeous open air space with heaps of seating, surrounded by food trucks and buzzing with energy. Toward the back, there’s a spacious indoor bar, function area, and toilets, perfect if you’re hosting a bigger event. The outdoor area also had heaters throughout, which made it super comfortable even as the evening cooled down.
We were there for a friend’s farewell with a group of about 30 people, and there was more than enough room to spread out. The food truck options were great, we went with Mr Burger and shared some chips around the table. My girlfriend tried the alcoholic watermelon slushie and loved it so much she went back for seconds… and thirds! I had a really refreshing lemon lime bitters, and the beers got a solid thumbs up from everyone at our table.
It’s a perfect casual spot to catch up with friends in Brunswick. The Saturday night atmosphere was lively with lots of families, groups, and a few events happening around us. The space has a great vibe, it’s well set up, and there’s plenty to eat and drink. Definitely worth a visit if you’re...
Read moreWent to visit this place after the current lockdown. The location - Good. Place - Spacious, Excellent Staff - Good Food - Didn't have food Beers - I've tried only one beer since this was my 10th beer that day. Had tried most of the beer styles and I thought I should try something different from other breweries, so I decided to give their chai porter a go. Big mistake! Wish I had picked something else, this beer tastes so bad, it deserves to go straight down to drain. I couldn't continue drinking after one sip. The spices were overpowered, there was not malt backbone, body was so thin, it tastes like water mixed with lots of spices. There was no carbonation, flat and no head. It didn't fit into the beer style description of a porter. A total...
