Tony is a living legend, and the prime example of one of what it means to be a phenomenal chef, business owner and beautiful human being.

I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and lovely chat. Tony asked where I came from, and how far, given that i had ordered the rolls takeaway.

After hearing that it was approx a half hour journey back home, he asked if he can leave my rolls in the food warmer for a few minutes, while he plated me up a dish of his roast beef and gravy for free, so i could simply sit and eat, and enjoy his food while it was hot.

I of course said yes, and it was nothing short of amazing. Id go as far to say its actually the most tender, best roast beef I’ve actually eaten.

The pricing is fantastic, and SO worth it. (Almost too cheap for what you receive, letalone compared to anywhere else in Melbourne)

Its clear even spending a few minutes in the store, the love and care between Tony and every single one of his customers.

Tony told me he has been doing this for 35 years, working around 16 hour days, every day. And it truly shows

Thank you so much Tony, you can guarantee Il be back, and...

I am barely out of the building and I have to write this. GO HERE IMMEDIATELY! This is by leaps and bounds the best roast I have had from a shop in my entirety of eating roasts. This can possibly be attributed to the care taken in cooking a good roast, which is crucial for that just right balance of full flavour and succulent meat, and needless to sat this roast is cared for as if cooking for family. I had the chicken with vegetables, an almost impossible feat to achieve because it sells out quick as, needless to say I snagged the last bit of chicken for the day! My wife had the pork and that's an amazing pick as well, my daughter, who is a fussy eater, chowed down on a fair share of the pork, which if you have a fussy two year old you know how impressive this is. Circling back to this roast being cooked as if it were for a family Sunday Roast, I think that comes from the lovely family running this shop thinking of you the customer as a new family member. So get in, get fed, and then get back quickly. But remember, get in early, or you'll miss out on the lamb...

The best pork roll I’ve ever had! A generous serving with tasty gravy. The meat was moist and cooked to perfection. A quick lunch turned very satisfying. The service was also very friendly and we will definitely be back! Edit 25/06/24: Went back for a late lunch again while passing through the area yesterday and had the beef this time. Man! Nothing has disappointed us yet! Well, except for the large group of overweight pigs who sat across at another table and promptly left after leaving mess everywhere. Some customers are pathetically rude with zero respect. The 7-8yo kid was so swollen he could have been mistaken for a wasp attack victim and it was clear to see where that had come from. Plumbers crack is usually a slight show. Older wobble chins had at least 6” or so. Disgusting humans! My son felt sorry for the owners, so he helped them clean...

This is a tradie hotspot, with back to back Utes and trucks stopping by for a quick feed. I had been meaning to give it a try for some time. I tried the beef roll, as there was no chicken or lamb. It’s a simple concept of just meat in a roll, doused in gravy. That’s it.. The flavours were nice even though it’s simplicity, and the meat was very soft. The roll started falling apart halfway through due to the gravy overload, but you get through it. A lot of meat, but I felt like something was missing. The owner is a friendly man who appears to run the shop by himself, and he does a great job managing it by himself. The space itself it spacious, very clean and well kept with good seating and a large drink collection. I would still prefer a souvlaki for example over this for the same price. Was still nice to try, thank you 🙏🏼
