I frequent LOT 88 when I am down for work (approx every 3 weeks or so) as I am a National Manager. Whenever I visit Lot 88 all the staff including the owners welcome me by name and by the time that I have sat down they have placed my teapot on my table. This morning (March 17 2020) I had the pleasure of being the first to try their Autumn Menu. I opted for the Sweet Potato and Halloumi Hash and I was not disappointed. I was presented with two grilled pieces of Sourdough, two perfectly Poached Eggs, roasted Dukkah, a generous portion of Halloumi and a voluminous amount of perfectly seasoned roast Sweet Potato Mash with some fresh rocket and greens. The entire dish was by far the best breakfast or meal that I have had outside of my international travels as a chef. I give massive kudos the chefs and the entire team as this leads me to be excited about their entire Autumn Menu and will definitely have people travelling from everywhere to enjoy their dishes. Thank you for always treating your produce and products with the utmost of respect and providing your patrons with such a fantastic experience. Read moreSimple but presented beautifully and tasty....poached eggs on sourdough toast. Toast wasn't too hard to cut through and seeded, so great earthy combination. I loved the touch of olive oil on the plate instead of butter. I would have loved to see some salt and pepper on the eggs or on the table, and a little more olive oil. The fried onion as a garnish was a great addition....just a little sweetness and crunch. Nice seating giving privacy to get a little work done before my meeting. Couldn't see an power points to connect the laptop. Great music and good coffee. I would come back if I was in the area. Better than sitting in Maccas. Pricing was reasonable....
Read moreThis place is tucked away amongst an industrial estate. It's modern, with an industrial feel. The staff are friendly, and will help when ever possible. The coffees are always amazing. This morning I had the smashed avocado with extra bacon. The avocado was seasoned well, you could taste a hint of lemon juice that bought a freshness to the dish. The seeds gave the dish a nice crunch, and the eggs were poached perfectly.
If you want to have a nice breakfast, take a drive and try the place. It's not often you find a nice cafe in an industrial estate.
