Mad Patties Wheelers Hill — Restaurant in Melbourne

Opened late. We ordered two burgers, one each, but only one came out after a very long wait. I was given the usual 'sorry', which I quickly dismissed. The place was completely empty of customers. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and the burger was not great enough for us to take our chances a second time.

Reading the response from Mad Patties was a further disappointment. Not only is the service inadequate, but their attitude is equally just as tragic. Opening late due to urgent matters? Really?. Ok, sure - but I doubt it. 15 minutes for a burger? Seems like a long time. The store being empty indicates staff was not under any pressure to perform and could have used the time to speak with us and confirm the order and perhaps explain the delay in opening the store or why the burger was taking so long to come out. Nobody asked for pricing as the prices are listed on the menu. I placed the order, then placed another for my wife immediately after. The staff quoted the price after each burger. Then I tapped to pay. There was no confirmation of anything at all. The reply mentions we left the store with our burger and the wrapping it came in. I don't understand what relevance that has or the point that is trying to be made. The lesson here is to never assume that because you have money to buy a hamburger store that you can suddenly make hamburgers. I understand there was potentially a language barrier at the root of the misunderstanding, so confirm the order, and don't take 15+ minutes to make one mediocre single burger. And dont forget to open on time too. Happy Chinese New Year to the new owners and staff at Mad Patties...

Was famished at 9:30pm and Mad Pattie’s seemed to be the only place open. The single staff member who I envision is the owner was more than friendly and helpful as I picked out my order.

I have some allergies to gluten and dairy and he was patient pointing me towards the many suitable option.

The potato gems were awesome and burger was juicy. I got the Mad Lot on a gf bun with no cheese. All of the ingredients individually were amazing especially the tomatoes which weren’t floury at all. It tasted great my only qualm was that it was slightly too soggy but I’d rather that then the opposite.

My entire meal took ten minutes and I couldn’t be happier. I will 100% be returning. Love that they are open...

Visited on a Sunday for the lunch special. We were very impressed with the quantity, quality and cost of the food. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy and the panko chicken burger was a delicious blend of flavours. Only giving a 4 stars however because the store was only managed by one person (which is fair on a Sunday) who was quite indifferent in her service (again it's a Sunday so who would be excited about working).
