The Hills Pantry — Restaurant in Melbourne

I was in the area getting a massage and popping into the chemist, I had some time to kill waiting at the pharmacy so I popped in with mum today

We didn't have a booking and it was quite busy but were given a table despite the lunch rush! The staff were actually so kind and beautiful - they were so friendly and greeted me so nicely, it just made for a really positive, local community, homey feel 😊 I really do love places like that! Places that seem to have the time for customers, that's this place! I've been having a really terrible week and it really made me feel better 💝

I ordered 2 coffees, a strawberry smoothie and a bowl of chips. They all came out really fast and all were expectional! I was quite sad I had to rush off and didn't get time to finish it all! They did offer to bag it for me but I really was in that much of a rush! Just expectional service all round!

The smoothie was so refreshing, the chips were perfectly made, the coffee were a delight! Not only that but they had fresh flowers on the table! It's was beautiful!

I'm also now aware they do puppychinos! I work with dogs and live very locally, I will be taking all of my doggy clients here 🐕 they have the cutest photo board, and a puppychino is only $1 what a...

It says in google maps the shop is open from 8 a.m on Saturdays and the fellow behind the barista machine refused to serve me saying they are open after 8.30 and asked me to wait till 8.30. Funny thing is the front door was wide open like they are open without a closed sign or barrier and the guy was making a coffee too. Why don’t you guys change your opening times in google maps and also keep your damn front door shut with a closing sign till it’s open. Ruined my Saturday morning. Don’t know about the quality of food but the service is sure not. FYI the incident happened on 11/1/2025 around 8.15 a.m and It was an awkward moment to get refused...

Got a low fat, vanilla latte. As a barista myself, this coffee was disappointing. I tried to call them but they did not pick up the phone and I didn't raise the concern after getting my coffee because my friend had bought it and brought it over. The coffee was very watery and taste like instant coffee and lacked any real flavour. Literally tasted like Moccona Instant Coffee.....

Maybe I went on a bad day.

For this reason, I will be giving this place a three star. If you are the owner of this place, let me know what went wrong please. I am very CURIOUS as to how a coffee is...
