Ramen Dump.ing House Wheelers Hill Review Update 12/6/2025 The service was faultless—attentive and professional throughout — but unfortunately, the dumplings fell short of expectations and didn’t live up to the restaurant’s reputation.
We ordered the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao and Sheng Jian Bao, while my friends had the prawn dumpling noodles. The dumplings appeared to be commercially produced rather than freshly crafted in-house; the pastry was noticeably thick, and the filling lacked the finesse and flavour expected from a venue of this standard.

It will unfair to rate this place lower, but then the Pan Fried Dumplings, and Xiao Long Bao were a bit of a disappointment.
The stuffing of the pan fried dumplings was ratherbordinary, the meat was rather too finely minced.
The XiaonLong Bao was supposed to be filled with small quantity of gingery soup, and when bit into the bao, the "juice" would squit out. It failed in flavour and lack of soup.
It is a rather small eatery rather than a restaurant. It sits about 30 people.
The kitchen can be seen from the dining area through the glass partition. A staff is normally behind the glass wrapping dumplings.
The Shanghai Xiaolong Bao quality is not up to standard. It should have gingery "juice" when one bites into the filling. Other individual dishes are good value for money, and the deep fried fish with tofu being the best on offer.
There is ample parking in the Wheelers Hill Shopping...
Read moreWas excited to hear a local dumpling place opened while I was overseas for a few years, even more impressed at then rating on Google maps.
My first visit today during lunch time was disappointing. 3/5 for me.
Point given for decor and general cleanliness of dining area. Good environment, however be aware this is a small place, you are unlikely to have space to fit a high chair and it's not very child friendly.
Food - hit and miss best describes it. I'd say positive is that dumplings are made fresh and on site. However, I had two different kinds of dumplings and one plate was way too salty while the other was perfectly cooked (crispy pan fried and juicy inside).
Service - needs significant improvement. Added 2 dishes to original order of 2 but never came, to be fair it was a "new" staff member. However it showed the lack of attention to customer service (checking in to make sure everything was received etc.) Considering that the place only fits 35-40pax max, and it wasn't full...bad form. On a positive, they burnt two dumplings of a serve and did not serve them to us choosing instead to notify us and re-cook replacements. This showed attention to food quality.
All in all I'd visit again, but this will be the sort of place you find your favourites on the menu and...
Read moreThe food is very not up to standard. The customer services was horrible and tea was not serve as it was empty either. Worse restaurant I have ever been in my life. I ordered a whole fish and only got 1/3 Of the fish the tail was missing and I order Dan Dan noodles and they serve it in soup. They provide all kind of excuses when asked but I was not satisfied and will nnot return to the restaurant again. Very disappointing and the food was very disgusting. Not worth the money for what I had. The food in springvale is better quality and better tasting than this restaurants and cheaper compared to what we paid. Very unhappy with the quality of the food. Food is not authentic at all, if you authentic Asian food and you are Asian, do not go there. You will be very disappointed and you will feel like you just flashes your money down the drain. Eating at home is properly better than wasting your money at this restaurant. Highly not recommending this restaurant to anyone who is a food avid, unless you just want to fill your stomach up and not worry...
