New levels of incompetence...
The Drive Thru screen did not show what I had ordered, so there was no way to check if the order was taken properly. And when you go through any Maccas drive-thru, you want to be able to check. If it's broken, make sure you ask for a receipt. I had to park and wait for over 5 minutes for a couple of Happy Meals and 2 McFeast meals. I only received one Happy Meal, and was told that they would make another one. So while that's happening, the food I already have is getting cold. I decided to check and make sure that the rest of the order was ok, and found that the Frozen Raspberry I ordered was a Coke. I then had to go into the store and get the drink changed. While I was doing this, I was told that I had to pay for the second Happy Meal, because their version of the order only included 1 Happy Meal.
So...if I'd stayed in my car, they'd have brought out the second "incorrect" order and I wouldn't have had to pay.
I said that I didn't think it was my problem that they took the order incorrectly in the first place, and that I didn't want to pay. The guy was insistent that I paid for it, so I ended up just asking for a refund.
So much for trying to keep the customer happy and taking responsibility for poor service.
I had to go back out to the car and get the now lukewarm food and bring it back in. I was then ignored for some minutes by the extremely busy and efficient staff. The shift team manager then half-heartedly asked if she could "help anyone" without even acknowledging me, even though I'd been standing there for a while.
I guess the service has a narrow beam and you have to be directly in front of the cash register to qualify.
This team manager was then unable to give me a refund for the exact amount of the original order. I paid $31.35, but she could only manage to refund me $29.95.
Perhaps there was some sort of hidden service charge that I wasn't aware of...
There was never any hint of an apology or acknowledgement of their incompetence. I just can't fathom how a simple order could be stuffed up in so many ways.
And today when I looked at the refund receipt I found out the problem: she had refunded me for a 3-nugget Happy Meal instead of a 6-Nugget Happy Meal. So there's an interesting symmetry to this experience. The order was wrong from the very start to the very finish. Well...
Read moreAbsolutely Terrible!! Worst Macca's I've ever been to. DO NOT EAT HERE.
Walked inside the restaurant, The menu ordering screens wouldn't let you put in an 'eat in' order with the screen saying "we are only taking takeaway orders at the moment".
Went up to the counter to order instead, waiting ages for anyone to acknowledge me let alone take my order (staff seemed more interested in completing drive thru orders than serving customers inside)
Ordered our food (a happy meal, a double cheeseburger meal and a big mac meal) and I asked if we were allowed to sit in the restaurant to eat (since the ordering screens said they were only doing takeaway I was unsure) and was told yes so we took our table number and sat down.
In the end they called out our receipt number instead from the front counter instead of delivering order to our table so I had to collect the order from the counter, and I had to ask for the free glass with the big mac meal because it had been forgotten.
Food was poorly put together and instead of putting thru my double cheeseburger as a meal it was put through as a drink and burger only so I didn't receive any fries.
We also used both the mens and womens toilets while at the restaurant and both were in an absolutely disgusting state. Toilets had lots of poo left in them, pee on the seats, filthy floors, walls and sinks with soap left all over the place, this was in every toilet stall in both the men's and women's toilets.
The music in the restaurant didn't work, cutting in and out constantly. The restaurant itself was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in months. There was food and rubbish left on tables, sauce dried on the floors, so it had been there awhile. Cobwebs on ceilings. So if the restaurant looked like this, how clean is the kitchen?
I also had a stomach-ache after eating here.
This is by far the worst experience I've had in a Macca's anywhere. Its honestly put me off eating at Macca's for quite some time.
Seems like the owners and managers need to get their act together and put more staff on and give staff some retraining to be able to clean the store better and serve...

Look we don't expect much. It's Macca's - not the Fat Duck. We were there at 9pm on a Sunday night. Not exactly prime time.
Servers ignored us. We then went to the screens. Ordered a ten piece meal and a McFlurry. Double fudge. With apple pie pieces. If you don't know what the apple pieces are, don't worry, we don't either because the staff eventually informed us that they had no idea what that was or why it was on the menu option. The manager eventually came up and told us she was happy to refund the cost of the add on (being the apple pie pieces, as the system had missed the double fudge option) but when she looked at the receipt, asked us suspiciously why it hadn't appeared on the receipt as it was clearly printed without the double fudge. Meanwhile, the chips and nuggets were sitting on the bench waiting to be taken but the drinks were overflowing and dripping coke all over the bench. Getting a little exasperated, I asked if they were ours, to which I was told "no, I'll get to yours shortly." The servers then overflowed two MORE drinks and wiped them down using the napkins set aside for our bag of now only warm food.
In short, congrats Kilsyth Maccas. You've done the impossible and managed to make Bayswater seem like a better option. And that's simply horrific.
When we left, they were asking one another who the two soggy drinks still sitting on the bench...
