Menzies Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

I thought I was the only one receiving the bad treatment from the staff of this place..but after reading reviews from others I know I'm not alone.i went to pick up an order for a client.the guy packed and passed the item to me..I took it and went out..when I was just about to drive away I heard a loud thud at the passenger windows.. the guy was BANGING a tin of coke against it! I opened the door and he scolded me saying 'can't you check?the drink was there together '..it definitely was not there!he passed the food item to me himself and now blaming me for 'leaving' the can of coke behind!it was his fault that he did not give me the drinks together with the food in the 1st place..Furthermore he BANG SHUT my car door loudly!I was so shocked I could not say a word..not worth anyway..clearly he does not belong in the service industry..I have never seen staff at other places behaving the way he did..really..really bad!!(and if he happens to be the owner it is worst then because he is 'killing 'his...

To be completely honest, this place serves the best flake and seafood I've ever had from a fish and chips. However, the service is absolutely shocking.

I know a lot of people that love the food but choose not to go here anymore due to the poor people skills of the staff. Never a smile or greet or "hows your day going?" and most of time not even a thank you. Staff constantly look either angry or depressed. Its so disappointing that they haven't realised this by now and little do they know if this issue were fixed, their business would be doing 80% better. There are locals going to others suburbs for fish and chips, keep these people local by doing yourselves a favour and fixing...

I gave them one star and that’s because the chips were not too bad but the service was terrible. The man serving was so rude. He told me on the phone it would take 10 mins I don’t live close so it took me a bit longer to get there.. the shop keeper berated me like I was a child and I’m a 60 year old Apparently I took too long to get there. According to the website they close at 10pm but when I got there he told me they close at 7pm and it was 7.20pm. If you’re closing early because it’s a public holiday then it might be a good idea to let the customer know this when placing the order.. I won’t be buying my fish and chips from...
