I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Migak restaurant in Oakleigh South today. The incident left me feeling humiliated, disrespected, and unfairly treated. When I paid my bill of $151.90 with four $50 bills, the cashier claimed I only provided $150, without even counting the cash in front of me. I confidently insisted that I had given $200 and requested the cashier to double-check. After involving the manager, they counted the register and reiterated that only $150 had been received, despite my repeated requests to review the surveillance footage. The manager's impatience and dismissive attitude were particularly disheartening. After insisting on watching the footage multiple times, I was able to confirm that I had indeed given four $50 bills. Eventually, the staff acknowledged their error and returned the $50, but there was no sincere apology for the distress caused. The casual âsorryâ offered felt inadequate considering the humiliation I endured. Throughout this experience, I felt a deep sense of mistrust and racial discrimination, as I was treated with suspicion while dining alone. The lack of professionalism from the staff and their refusal to take my concerns seriously left me feeling belittled and marginalized.
I strongly believe that all customers deserve to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their background. I urge you to address these issues with your staff to ensure that future patrons do not experience similar treatment. It is crucial for restaurants in Australia to promote an inclusive and respectful...

However, we were very disappointed that, given their high prices, they do not offer any refills like any other Korean restaurants would, even just one free refill...They charge $5 instead. Their overall prices are actually quite on the expensive side. We were also a bit let down by the quality of their mains too. We had the japchae (glass noodles) which was way too soft and overcooked. We also had the galbi tang and while it tasted fine, the flavouring or ingredients weren't the most authentic. Nevertheless, the presentation of the meals were very aesthetic, but we haven't been able to come back since our last visit in 2024 given their limited operating hours.
2023: One of our favourite korean eateries in Melbourne! Though not a wide variety for mains, they offer many choices of authentic korean meals and side dishes. We absolutely loved the kimbap! We dined in for lunch last Saturday, but they seem to offer frozen meal/side dish options, takeaway, as well as meal prep and catering. Prices were very reasonable and staff members were friendly too! However, we really wish that they do dinner too and had longer operating hours instead of closing at 3pm to cater working couples like us đ We also wish that kimbaps are served on other days too not just on a Saturday! Nevertheless, we had a great experience and will...
Read moreDelicious and authentic Korean courses with rare raw marinated prawns and crabs. Iâve been looking around Melbourne to see where I could taste Ganjang Gejang (raw marinated crab in soy sauce) for a while and I finally found Migak and they didnât disappoint.
The tiny restaurant was bustling with Korean faces and we knew we went to the correct place. The seafood dishes were super fresh, with the prawnsâ sauce slightly more intense in sweetness and spiciness. They also provided scissors and gloves in case you found it difficult to break open the crab shell. It was a pity there wasnât much crab roe, but that wasnât the fault of the restaurant. I didnât taste much of the other dishes, but I was told they all tasted delicious and authentically Korean.
The restaurant was very tiny and the waiting list was very long and we waited around 30 minutes as walk-ins, so if youâre ant to visit, please try to reserve...
