Northern Dumpling — Restaurant in Melbourne

We came in as new customers when they opened 11.30am and had the WORST customer experience ever. The staff were cagey from the outset telling us this wasn't a Dumplings restaurant. We were confused but then asked to see the menu and were happy to dine there despite being told this wasn't a Dumplings restaurant when it's clearly written on the NAME of the restaurant and the menu HAS DUMPLINGS. We were then taken to a table and proceeded to order from the menu only to be told by the staff they were about to have their morning meal and it'd be a 30 minute wait till they finished and available to cook our order, we were the only 2 customers in the restaurant. I asked why on earth would they be opening at 11.30am when they can't serve customers at that time, and why would they treat us in that way... It would've been better had they let us know from the outset they weren't yet open and to alter their opening times accordingly. We wasted 20mins only to walk out hungry and frustrated... The customer experience was shocking and I shared that this was my first time to their restaurant and to have this experience is massively disappointing... The staff said there was nothing they could do... I definitely won't be going back and I encourage others not to go either as this is how they treat their customers... Doesn't seem like...

Terrible, terrible experience in this place. We ordered 4 dishes. We have to ask for water ourself, ask for where the dishes are. We were given 2 cold dishes and rice for the entire hour and waiting for the hot dishes (and 3.5 dollars for one small serve of rice?). We asked one of the staff where are the other 2 dishes, it was totally shocking to see she rolled her eyes at us and told us "I've told you when you order that you have to wait". I could understand it was a busy dinner time, but this attitude is unacceptable. And the meal is not tasty to match the price, the veggie was too salty and meat wasn't fresh. Would not come back there again and not recommending anyone to...

Used to be a 5 star but nowadays it's completely changed. Service is much worse as there always is a few waiters looking like they will go off and rage on you and they just give off incredibly unwelcoming and ignorant attitudes. Food is much worse both in price and volume and everything is either too sweet or too salty. We waited around 2 hours for 4 dishes and we ordered a total of 9 and we had to add more because we were barely satisfied and still hungry. We used to come and spend around 200 for 8 people and we would be satisfied but now we spent 400 and still want more. I would recommend other Chinese stores unless the restaurant changes to how...
