Got here at 4:20pm today to place an order. Ordered my families food, then as I went to order myself gluten free was told they arenât taking gf orders past 4pm but they will make an exception which was very nice of them but I definitely would have ordered more gf food if they were actually taking these orders. As I went to walk out, I noticed I was charged for an additional grilled flake. When I went back to get the refund, I was told by the gent serving that that is what I asked for and he was a bit rude about it. I had my order written down on my phone so I knew I didnât ask for any extras. When I came back an hour later to collect my food the younger boy serving gave me one tray. I questioned him shouldnât there be more and he then said oh it wasnât my order and gave me another one. Again I questioned why there wasnt another tray as I should have a seperate one for gf and he was confused, read the receipt again and gave me then 2 trays in total. Went to my car and opened them up and it was a completely different order so went back in. I quoted what I ordered and as he went to give me another tray I could see what was in it and told him again that wasnât my order either. At this point he was trying to read from a receipt he had, and I even gave him my receipt to show what I had ordered. Even the older gent working quoted to him what I had ordered and I did too. He wrapped the tray up and gave it to me. Got in the car and opened it up again to realise the order was once again wrong with this time receiving 4 fried flakes instead of 2 grilled, 2 fried. Not a huge deal but grilled did cost extra and I have 2 family members that hate fried. I just donât understand how it could be messed up so many times, even after the receipt being in front of him, me telling him my order and the other gent working repeating my order. I just gave up and went home. Extremely disappointed with the service. Itâs Good Friday, I know they are busy but to mess up an order at least 4 times. Iâve ordered medium chips which was $9, and the old lady said minimum eftpos is $10. There was nothing else I needed and she said that she canât charge a service fee therefore sheâll have to charge $10. So, Iâve changed the chips to large one which is $13.50 thinking that I will enjoy some hot chips. after I finished paying she goes to me chips doesnât come with sauce. Sauce is 30 cents each. I told the lady at the beginning I donât have any cash. So how Iâm supposed to pay for sauce 30 cents by card. When I asked her â you could have told me at the beginning it doesnât come with sauce and itâs 30cents I wouldâve buy sauce until I reach the minimum eftpos limit she started to argue with me said Iâm a smart one and started to be rude. She was so rude and said â nothing comes free , u have to buy ur own sauce, I donât get anything for free blah blah .. then how about sheâs trying to charge me a $1 for free..( $1 is nothing but she doesnât deserve it) when I asked for refund she refused it and didnât even said sorry. By far the worst customer service and fish and chips I have had. We were overcharged (due to a mistake of Off the boat) called and advised them, we were also missing our 2L coke which came with our fish pack. My partner went back to get the coke and sort out the overpayment, however the manager was extremely rude, attitude was horrible and finished by telling my partner to take a small bottle of coke rather than the 2L after she had disagreed on the overpayment/ mistake (????) They refused to give back the money.
This was our first time ordering from here and love supporting the locals, however this is one place we WILL NOT support. As a first time customer, it is clear that the manager/owner knows NOTHING about customer service and building relationships.
I can see from other reviews that previous replies from the owner state they will âlove to make it up to youâ - definitely not the case and seems like a simple copy & paste response. I actually live in the north east and was visiting at my partners, and we are all about good customer service and fresh food. The flake pieces are TINY for the price you pay, the chips were missing salt and soggy, you can tell the oil hadnât been changed in a while just by the colour of the food.
