Read moreWent for breakfast to enjoy the last of the long weekend, we arrived late morning and ordered a bottle of prosecco to which we were told they are licensed from 12 - thats fair enough, so we ordered coffee while we waited the 20 minutes and said we will order the bottle for 12. By 10 past we had asked 3 times to which we were told it wasn’t chilled and the only bottle they have is in the shelf - this was a little frustrating since it was known what wed order in due time when we were allowed to, why wouldn’t you get it in the fridge or freezer to chill off for a bit instead of pretending like we never requested it? But also having re stock duties carried out so this doesn’t happen. We got over it and added ice it is what it is. Then our food came, however no silverware was bought over - we had to request this and wait another 5 or so minutes. The food was good, well priced and portions were unheard of these days, Kitchen kudos. But this needed to be mentioned as the aforementioned mistakes are very very basic and this is what kills a hospo business, it wasn’t very busy and for the sleek venue that it is and good menu there is no reason this place shouldn’t have been packed on a Sunday while the Thai restaurant next door was, the little 1 percenters are what count and I feel it is severely lacking in this area, staff need better training and confidence, we were apologised to by (I think the owner) he was nice enough and yes we will give it another go but please take the advise for your sake to keep this business going. The wine list could have a bit more to it - I think this and offering night time functions you could be well...

The owner appeared to be openly rude and verbally aggressive toward the young staff, speaking to them in a demeaning and unprofessional manner right in front of customers. It was incredibly uncomfortable to watch, and it created a tense, negative atmosphere throughout the café.
These young workers, who seemed to be doing their best, were spoken to with such disrespect that it was hard to enjoy the experience. At one point, the owner was loudly scolding a staff member over something minor, slamming things on the counter while customers sat in silence, clearly uncomfortable. No one—especially young people just starting out in the workforce—deserves to be treated like that.
I had initially planned to come back, but after witnessing such behaviour, I simply can’t support a business that treats its staff in such a degrading way. Until there is a clear change in management behaviour and respect for employees is shown, I won’t be returning—and I know others who feel the same. HE...
