Chef Ahmed is a living treasure of traditional cuisine from a few backgrounds inline with living in Dubai before coming to Australia. Mainly Persian, some Indian and some Afghani famous dishes are on the menu and all very tasty and tackled like an artisan would. It is amazing to taste stews that taste so authentically rich in flavours- no shortcuts here. Diversity, authenticity, quality ingredients, honesty, sauces with deep flavours and balance of tastes, care to ensure customers are happy, generosity of spirit, outstanding ability to work under pressure and hard work ethic lead to delicious fesanjan (pomegranate and walnut chicken stew), ghormeh sabzi (lamb stew with green vegetables and herbs), eggplant stew, high quality kebabs (especially the pomegranate lamb rack kebab), outstanding bastani (Persian ice-cream), naans and dough drinks. When one considers it takes a day to make each main dish, the variety on offer amazes me when so many Middle Eastern places focus on kebabs and leave out the more complex stews due to the expensive ingredients and long preparation hours, as many only focus on money for minimum work- but not this restaurant- this place is about cooking food you will feel the goodness. Shannon who serves the food is very attentive to the customers, hard-working and always smiling, often multi-tasking and rushing, but always friendly and finding time to connect with the customers wanting a chat. I have come in very regularly the last few weeks whilst having my new kitchen built and I have to say that I have been spoiled each time, whether by myself or with my daughter. 'Persian Flavours' is a restaurant to visit and revisit...hope that one day Chef Ahmed will release his own cookbook and share some of his extraordinary journey with us all. In the meantime I can only encourage you to try this amazing place and you too will become a frequent visitor at...
Read moreThis family-run Afghan restaurant (with a delightful mix of Persian and Middle Eastern dishes) is an absolute gem. Everything is made from scratch with premium ingredients, and you can even see some of the ingredients they sell right next to the kitchen, so fresh and authentic.
One of the things I love most is their freshly stone-baked soda bread; warm, soft, and absolutely delicious. The quality of the food is outstanding, yet the prices are surprisingly reasonable for what you get. The portions are generous, and the variety of flavors gives you a chance to try something different each time, especially if you enjoy exploring different meats and traditional recipes.
The atmosphere is welcoming and vibrant, with people from all walks of life dining together. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home. It’s also BYO, so you can bring along your own wine or any beverage to enjoy with the meal.
The authenticity, freshness, fair pricing, and warm hospitality make this restaurant stand out; it’s no wonder I find myself coming back every week. If you’re looking for delicious food with a mix of Afghan, Persian, and Middle Eastern flavors at unbeatable value, this is the...

I was introduced to this simple but quite spacious restaurant that serves elegant and delicious food which are not greasy. I absolutely love the food and the friendly service here. It offers b.y.o. as well. I rate it 5 stars and have bought many friends including a couple over 80 years old from Singapore who love the food served in Persian Flavours. My favourite are the Chicken Masti, Lamb Kodideh, Lamb Kotlet, Garlic Naan and the incredibly tasty white soft perfectly cooked rice with nice butter and the other deliciously and elegantly flavoured chicken, lamb or beef briyanis. When I said elegantly flavoured, I meant the flavour level is just right and not too intense that you missed other flavours from other dishes. if you are looking for Indian curry like Beef Vindaloo which can be so hot that you lose your tongue, then Persian Flavours curries are not quite your taste. However, you can still try their elegant flavours and ask for green long cut chillirs. I love to eat here without feeling guilty of putting on...
