Reddy Roasts Carvery - Carrum Downs — Restaurant in Melbourne

Edited Review July 2019: Everything is fixed that I complained about in my last review. Gravy is perfect. Portion sizes are great again. Cauliflower could do with more salt through the cream sauce, but it has gotten cheesier. Staff are nice, especially the young boy, is super polite. We're back to eating here on the regular again. Nice filling wholesome food, one of your favourites.

Old review: Im not sure what's going on with this Reddy Roast, when it first opened gave feedback on changing their packaging to the foil (They did that, well done) and the peppery gravy. And all was Good. But today we bought Reddy Roast for dinner and it was disappointing. What happened to the portion size?! I can see the bottom of the container which ive never seen before at any Reddy Roast. A handful of hot chips in it, really? Did you have to skimp on chips, something so cheap. Is it worth it? And the really peppery gravy again. Could you also please take some salt out of the gravy and put it in the Cauliflower cheese please. We'll try it again but if your going to start getting stingy with the portion size we might have to swap over to...

This is the third time in a row that we've been served disappointing meals from Reddy Roast Carrum Downs. Asked for scalloped potatoes, received roast potatoes. Asked for gravy on everything, only got it on the meat. Food was delivered luke warm. Meat was fatty. Chips were soggy. As I said in my previous review (below), it’s not enough to warrant a return trip or phone call to the restaurant, but it’s disappointing (especially when you need to convince a fussy toddler to eat soggy chips). That's all the chances you get, Reddy Roast. Overpriced meals and underwhelming service.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: The food itself is consistently very nice. My only complaint is that we often don’t get everything we pay for. Popped in for a last minute bite to eat.. this particular reddy roast was once a guaranteed delish go to for us.. my how things have changed since we were last here. I can only presume the business has changed hands. Terrible all round doesn't begin to describe our experience this evening.

It all started with the smarmy attitude of the young server. He must have been sick the day they taught polite and courteous to customers... we asked for chicken rolls no butter or extras only to see lashings of butter on the roll and was told the rolls are pre-buttered which may explain why they tasted so stale... the roast beef and gravy roll was already made when we arrived to see the chicken rolls being done. The beef roll was cold and gravy gloopy and congealed... revolting and inedible is an understatement.. the "chips" were soggy flavourless and mostly raw!! $52 was a total rip-off for what we were given.. I'll be giving the Carrum Downs store a miss from now on and you...
