I am terribly disappointed. My housemate used UberEats for the first time on the weekend, (I have used them with no problems & yes she has been in contact with them for assistance with this issue also). The app took the Uber Eats driver to a different address, & when he arrived she accepted her order, he left & she noticed she didn't have her drink, a ginger beer. Immediately she contacted both UberEats & Surrey Hills Fish & Chips, Uber have been helpful so far & we are working with them towards a happy ending. Yet this Fish & Chip shop has been very disappointing. I was home at the time so witnessed all her phone calls to the fish & chip shop. They didn't offer any solution, in fact they told her it wasn't their fault & there was nothing they could do. We do not know if they didn't give the drink to the driver, or if the driver simply kept the drink for himself. What is even more disappointing is that when she, (due to her contact with the F&C shop & their poor customer service) left a review which of course it wasn't positive they responded saying they did offer assistance inc a free drink when she next orders whilst on the call with her on the weekend. They have called her a liar. I find it interesting that whilst on the call they were unhelpful, dismissive & passed the blame, yet as soon as there is a negative comment in their reviews they offered the free drink. Her review was not all negative, she said the food was good, it was the missing drink & poor customer service that she was very unhappy with. There is no point offering a free drink when as a result of this she will never go to this F&C shop again, & may never use UberEats again either. Sending a drink/providing a refund straight away would have been way more suitable. Whilst I know this is her word against theirs I also know what I heard and saw on the weekend when she ordered, then received, then contacted both companies about her missing drink & so I will post this review to confirm she was not treated right or offered a solution by the F&C shop, until of course she posted the review. Read moreBeen going here on and off for 3-4 years, food was generally edible until later last year. We would constantly have issues with the food, food so under cooked it all looked bleached, even after we stated that we wanted the food well cooked on many occasions. Had to constantly go back to get missing items of food time and time again even when asked if they served the full order. Usually when an eatery stuffs up an order they would chuck in a couple of extras to apologise and make up for their stuff ups, you get nothing from these guys. After or last order the other week being completely wrong, as well as being undercooked to the point where the food was still cold in the middle, we will never be spending another cent there, very poor customer service especially for loyal customers, food hygiene standards have also dropped, on many occasions I've seen them take money and then go batter the fish with the same gloves on. I understand that if cooked in a fryer that germs shouldn't survive. But keep that type of food hygiene confined to your every day household, not in a place where you serve 100+ customers a day. Read moreThis place used to be very good. It isn't anymore and what happened today made me certain I'm not going back. I called my order in, the phone line was terrible. I disconnected and called back 3 times using 3 different phones, it didn't improve.
I gave my order as: 1 Hamburger with the lot plus pineapple 1 Grilled flake 1 Hotdog in batter 1 Scallop 1 Fish Cake 2 Dim Sims 3 Potato Cakes Minimum chips 1Aoili Sauce He read it back to me.
Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 10 mins later but left the shop 25 minutes later after paying $34.50 for the above. No big deal, they were busy.
Got home to find the Fish cake and 3 potato cakes missing. That meant one person in our house only chips to eat! Called the shop, he swore he didn't charge me for the Fish cake and the potato cakes. I told him that he read it back to me when I ordered. He said the line was bad so he didn't hear everything.
