Food-wise, decent and acceptable. Owner is very friendly too.
However, I am very disappointed for being wrongly accused of vaping in the restaurant by some idiotic customer who claims to ‘smell’ something. The accusation was truly baseless and had spoilt my evening. Felt truly sorry for the owner having to entertain to such uncivilised behaviour of this other customer.
Vaping involves physically putting an e-cigarette or vape into the mouth and inhaled, it does not operate on its own when put on a table with other personal belongings while an individual is clearly munching and enjoying a meal.
Hopefully the owner of the restaurant does not have to come across such uncivilised customers that simply tries to create unnecessary tensions through spreading hate and baseless accusations, which would turn away legitimate customers.
Installing a CCTV in the restaurant would be a good option to avoid such discriminatory, baseless accusations to occur in future. Such acts of inciting hatred by a customer towards other customers through spreading baseless accusations should be reported to the...
Read moreBad. Don't go if you are visiting Merimbula. If you are willing to wait for more than 1.5hr hours then this is a place to spent the time to eat overpriced and regular taste dishes. Never even tell us that the cook is running late. Bad. Just bad. The serving lady is very friendly and nice. Only her feels so sorry for us but not the lady boss. We ordered: Asam fish: tasted like watery curry. No assam taste. Not spicy Butter fried prawn: just like ordinary stir fried prawn. No butter crunch Fried rice: nothing to shout about Nyonya green chilli: Similar to what I can cook using the green chilli paste at home. They put too much sugar. Noodles & tofu stir fried: ordinary. Malaysian dishes are not called Malaysian dishes. Nyonya dishes are so poorly cooked. The ratio of their ingredients are not right. Overall is tasted like ordinary cooking. We paid $200+ for our late and ordinary meals. No apologies or table romance from the lady boss. We should have left but we didn't. Guess our staying is not being appreciated and yet we paid...
Read moreEnjoyed the hot and sour prawn soup. The asian chilli fish (ling fillets) had slivers of fish not fish fillets and 3 big stalks of green shallots. The sauce was sweet and salty and not very chilli. Beef rendang had a lot of soft tasteless beef pieces smothered in a sauce that's overpowered by star anise. I was expecting at least a hint of coconut because all the beef rendang I've tasted had coconut in it. I mixed the sauce from the chilli fish and created a new dish, beef rendang with chilli fish sauce. Service was poor, only 2 people serving. It took 45 minutes between the soup and the sad mains being served . And they had a full house and had to turn people away. It was just sad. Expensive too. Should have gone to maccas. I give it 1 star for the hot and sour prawn soup only because I could not...
