Been to this cafe on Easter Monday. Turned up at 1030am, we were told there was a long wait of approx 30mts. We agreed to wait. The gentleman kept coming back to us every 15mts or so telling us it wont be too long now. We were truly appreciative of the fact the staff is looking out for us to be seated next. Waited around 50mts and then we were told that they have a table for us. They also told us that the kitchen stopped taking orders as they ran out of supplies and that we are welcome to order coffee and cakes!. We were a family group with hungry children by this time and this is not something we wanted to hear after a 50mts of wait. We turned up to the cafe counter and the young girl at the counter was unapologetic and rude. She told us “not our problem, we are the only cafe open today”. Take it or leave it!!. Upon our repeated request, she checked with the chef and the chef agrees to take order… then there was a long wait for food. Surely they made us pay for visiting their cafe. The food was delivered around 1215pm. I can assure you their food is not worth waiting for 2hrs with hungry children.. especially when you are on holidays. We knew there will be delays when we turned up.. but putting your hand up and not even apologising is not the way to treat customers regardless of Easter weekend or Christmas weekend. There was a 20% surcharge on food and drinks on the day. i would have thought this surcharge will be used to staff the cafe and stock up, to deal with peak holiday period, not for profiteering. Stay away from this place...
Read moreFood and coffee were delicious. Both came out super quickly. But the staff… well one in particular. The first fella that sat us was great and super attentive, great customer service from him. However, the lady that I would assume was the manager was not so pleasant.
We were seated during a busier time of the morning and all that was left was a bigger table. No issues. My partner and I were happily sitting side by side enjoying our breaky date when the manger abruptly came up and demanded one of us move to the other side of the table so they can seat people on the same table as us. No asking us if that was okay or even asking in a polite manner. We didn’t even get a chance to speak before she moved on.
We then witnessed her ‘going off’ loud enough for us to hear her from outside at the fella that sat us telling him he shouldn’t have done that and if we weren’t willing to have others on the table he should have told us to wait for a smaller table…. ...
Read moreWe've been here multiple times and it has always been wonderful with great food and coffee. However today was not so great. I ordered the sweetcorn and zucchini fritters, and they were uncooked in the middle. We alerted the waitress who was horrified, and she took the plate back to the kitchen. She offered me coffee or cake while I waited which was nice, but I declined. But then, the next serve of fritters brought to me was also uncooked in the middle! My partner alerted the waitress again, who was mortified yet again, and I was then provided with a partial refund. So, I didn't get my lunch and walked away hungry! So, I can understand and look past it happening once, (we're human right? and stuff happens), but twice? I mean really? It just isn't good enough. And not a word or apology from the chef or manager either? Sorry, but we definitely won't be back again now....
