3.5 stars. While I haven't completely written these guys off, my experience wasn't that great either. So the swan valley location is not a factory, although I think they do make their own chocolate from scratch in their Belmont (WA) location? It's a relatively large shop, lounge area and cafe; "confectionary" is a decent description of this company, as they primarily sell a lot of chocolate coated lollies etc. They have about 4 pre-chopped things ready for tasting, so when we asked them at the counter they gave us each a little piece of milk chocolate-coated pretzel, milk chocolate-coated licorice, milk chocolate coconut rough and one other that I've forgotten. They tasted fine. They do sell single origin chocolates and chocolates of different percentage cocoa (looked like the highest was 80%?), although you'd probably need to buy these in order to try them. I bought a 200g packet of milk chocolate honeycomb (for $6.50), took a bite, and was thinking "wait a minute this tastes crap..". I looked at the ingredients, it was hardly even chocolate; containing mostly vegetable fat, cocoa powder and flavouring.. I almost wanted to just give it back to them. So I would recommend checking the ingredients list if you buy anything, because I think some things were decent chocolate and some things weren't. It wasn't as exciting to visit as somewhere like Gabriel's chocolate in the Margaret River region, although perhaps their factory outlet might still be...

Read moreExtremely disappointed, had to wait an excessive amount of time for our meals, had to go twice to the counter to inquiry about my meal, the first time I was told it was just being prepared, after waiting another half an hour I went back again only to find it sitting on the counter, when asked how long it had been there I was told a little while, so then I naturally inquired about the temperature of the food and was told they could reheat it. I wasn’t impressed at all but by this time I was rather hungry and wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. Others at my table also had to wait a lengthy time for their meals, by the time I got my meal everyone else at my table had long finished. To top it off the coffee had to be remade and was luke warm, the size was also questionable, their large is more like a medium compared to other places with their price being at the higher end of the scale seems like double dipping to me. Lovely place and it was a busy day but I feel the kitchen and the staff aren’t equipped to cope with the high volume of people that are...
