We had a wedding to attend on Saturday and opted to stay overnight in an airbnb nearby to avoid driving home late at night. First ones there for a table reserved for 3 people. Arrived on an empty stomach and ready for a meal. We were informed that this was previously 'The Cheese Barrel' which closed their doors due to COVID and rebirthed as The Tapas Bar. All menu items is well suited for coeliac guests. Everything is or can be made GF/GFO available. The food here is delicious and not because we were hungry. Genuinely amazing. The food arrived quickly, almost one after another. Each person selected two items from the menu which made up of - fried calamari, cider brine chicken, GF bread, field mushrooms (recommended by waitstaff), kangaroo carpaccio, crocodile gumbo, wedge island octopus and WA smoked chorizo with two blood orange sodas and a coconut, lime and vanilla soda. It was all demolished in no time. Any menu item containing some sort of protein was prepared well by the chefs. Hats off to them.

All around amazing was my experience working with Dan and Mark who opened their beautiful venue, warm hospitality and stellar service for a private function! Our guests from interstate really got a taste of the Swan Valley produce with the wine tasting and grazing board, which came complete with a historical story telling from Mark. The tapas to follow was just delicious!! And we could not believe the plate after plate that kept on coming from Dan's kitchen. Just magnificent. Crowd favourites were the mushroom raclette, crocodile popcorn, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Shark bay tiger prawns, potato bravas, Broccolini with chilli, almonds and Wild buffalo and native pepper leaf chorizo. And what a great selection of beers, spirits and wines - all locally sourced to round off a 10/10 dining experience and showcase the magnificence of the Swan Valley. Thanks so much Dan and Mark for making our event super special! Definitely will be back and spreading the word about The Tapas Bar.

My wife mentioned this place as we were out for a drive, and we made a snap decision to call in and try it. Staff were really friendly and helpful with the menu. The restaurant has a nice deck area under cover, and another outdoor section under shade sails. Would be way too easy to settle in for an afternoon! The food service was quick, and we could not fault any of the dishes. We tried the Crocodile gumbo, very tasty, and mildly spiced. Slightly chewy texture compared to chicken. The Buffalo chorizo was really delicious. The Tiger prawns were perfectly cooked, ‘melt in your mouth’ delights. The fried calamari was also bang-on perfect. The Turkish sourdough that accompanied the meals was also really good. We can normally pick a ‘winner’ dish, but not this day - they were all good! Definitely going back to try some of the other dishes.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Hidden Gem in the Swan Valley – Outstanding Food, Service & Setting

Tucked away in the stunning Swan Valley, The Tapas Bar is an absolute hidden gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth by the incredible Elenore — who seemed to gracefully manage the entire floor with care, charm, and absolute professionalism. Her passion for the venue and its offerings was evident from the start. Though there were a few empty tables when we arrived, the space quickly filled up — no surprise considering they’re only open late on Fridays and Saturdays. The atmosphere is effortlessly casual, with a breathtaking view overlooking the vineyards and their exquisitely maintained gardens. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time, soaking in the tranquil ambience. Elenore made our visit extra special with her thoughtful wine recommendations and guidance through a carefully curated tapas menu. Every dish we tried had its own unique flavour profile — beautifully balanced, immaculately presented, and simply delicious. Each plate left us wanting more (in the best possible way), and the homemade desserts were the perfect sweet finish to an exceptional meal. This venue is a true celebration of local produce, relaxed dining, and heartfelt service. Elenore is a standout ambassador for The Tapas Bar — treating the venue with the same love and care as if it were her own. Her personal touch added so much to the overall experience. We truly hope they consider evening dining throughout summer, as this would be the perfect spot for sunset dinners with friends and family. Whether you're visiting Western Australia or a local looking for your next favourite place — make this a must-visit. Or better yet, make it a regular ritual. #SwanValleyEats #TheTapasBarWA #HiddenGemPerth #TapasWithAView #PerthWineCountry #ElenoreMagic #ExceptionalService #GourmetExperience #FoodiesOfPerth #WADining #SupportLocalWA #PerthFoodLovers...
