KFC Mt Barker — Restaurant in Mount Barker

I recently visited KFC Mount Barker while working a night job in the area, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. Mount Barker has a variety of restaurants to choose from, but something about KFC immediately caught my attention. Maybe it was the inviting glow of the signage, or the thought of enjoying a freshly cooked meal after a long shift—but whatever it was, I’m so glad I decided to step in.

The first thing I noticed was how clean and well-maintained the restaurant looked. From the dining area to the counter and even the kitchen (which I could partially see from the service area), everything appeared spotless. It’s always a great sign when a fast-food place takes hygiene and cleanliness seriously, especially during busy hours.

Despite a few customers ahead of me, the service was incredibly quick and efficient. The staff was friendly, polite, and handled orders with a level of professionalism that you don’t always see in fast-food restaurants. They were attentive to details, ensuring my order was accurate and packed perfectly.

Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely amazing! The chicken was crispy, hot, and cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of crunch and juiciness. The fries were golden and fresh, not overly salty or soggy, and the burger I ordered was packed with flavor. It was clear that everything was made fresh, and the quality was top-notch.

Today's visit to the drive through was eventful. First of all I ordered a regular nugget combo with a 7up. (Along with two other combos). Was informed that there was no cans of 7up so I was to pay for a large combo instead. (Surely the policy should be to either offer me a bottle of 7up at the same price or at the very least a different flavour of drink?). So proceeded through the drive through and collected the meals. On receiving the order I made a check to see that the sweet & sour sauce was in the bag. (This is a regular failing at all KFC stores) today we were fortunate to have been supplied without having to ask. Little did I know though that of the three meals ordered, only the boxed meal had its sides of chips supplied. Unfortunately I didn't discover this little gem till I got home to the family. Not going back now, but will have to perform the role of checking the work of the window server if I ever go...

This has by far been the best KFC restaurant I have been to compared to the others ranging from Munno Para to The Riverland. The drive-thru was clean from debris as well as the car park. The zinger burger was absolutely amazing with the perfect amount of mayonnaise spread around the bun so you have equal flavour. The chicken was oversized which was exciting to see and the overall flavour combined with the lettuce tasted brilliant. The original recipe burger my friend ate had overflowing lettuce so some was wasted however they also recommended it. The chips had enough salt and flavour that it should be considered a food prize winner of 2022 with the right temperature at serve and neither over or under cooked!
