Saturday night Booking for 5ppl @7:30. Restaurant not busy.
We Arrived early and ordered 3 cocktails and one mocktail which were good. Sat at the comfy lounge area while we waited for them to set the table.
Ordered the house made Fish fingers, Chicken bites and Salt/pepper squid for entre - they came quickly as ordered. I don’t want to sound like a whinger, but maybe change the oil a bit more regularly.
We then tried to order the corrigans seafood stack for main … But they couldn’t do it. they also couldn’t do the grilled fish - weird aren’t we at the coast?
So we ordered the rib eyes with confit potatoes, all medium rare, 2 as surf and turf, one with mushroom gravy and a side salad with semi dried tomatoes and feta. Semi dried tomatoes were straight out of the jar and not diced up. Pfft Lazy.
2 steaks Arrived 5-10 before the others. All had chips, 2 had a few confit potatoes hidden under the chips - weird, chips werent listed on what we ordered. There must have been a shortage of potatoes as well? And why didn’t they arrive at the same time? Send Gordon Ramsay in to sort them out.
No mushroom gravy came … when asked, the waitress came back and said they couldn’t do the gravy - surely a kitchen with 4 staff, should be able to knock some gravy together.
Nice roomy restaurant, our table unfortunately for us was in full view of the kitchen servery. Where we saw the chef lick his fingers after placing something on a plate.
Credit where due, the wait staff were Good. the steak was cooked as ordered. And they gave us a 15% discount off The bill as we Couldn’t have what we really wanted to eat… Which they made back on the $15 bottle of wine they charge $65 for.
I’m still waiting for a call from the owner to run through...
Read moreI have been waiting decades for the opportunity to dine at a bonafide Kitchen Nightmares establishment, and I must say, the experience certainly did not disappoint.
While the service was passable, the meals our group payed top dollar for left us stopping by Macca's on the way home. From gristly, flavourless stake, overcooked dry fish and a salty oily salad to a $20 dish providing four frozen prawns, some loose spinach leaf and inedible rice drowned in cream, this restaurant finally had me fulfilling my Gordon Ramsay dream of picking apart a meal rather than eating it.
I can promise you won't have to worry about serving size, as no-one in our group was able to fully finish their meal. Even when washing it down with sub-par, watery cocktails, the only true highlight was the complimentary table water.
With an overall cost of over $200 for the group (not budgeting for being well overcharged for the wine), this meal was truly a once in a lifetime...
Read moreI'm not one to write a negative toned review but I was super disappointed about the meal for the price. We were excited to have a nice meal out while down with friends at the Bay. While the service was initially friendly and welcoming it quickly dropped off. With 3 visible wait staff and only 2 other tables with a couple of people on each in the whole place, I was surprised by the lack of service given to our table of 9. After we got our meals we struggled to get any attention at all. This restaurant has a very limited menu and with that I expected the quality to be fantastic. I was quite disappointed and would consider it a rather mediocre meal. The next night I made a beautiful fresh salmon pasta at home that rivalled anything that we got that night. It might explain why the place was near empty during peak holiday time on a...
