If you are thinking about visiting this place as a flying visit - go to McDonald’s instead.

I’ve never been made to feel as uncomfortable as I did stepping into this place. For what reason I am not sure?

We are from the UK and on a long trip throughout Australia.. we had been in the car for 7 hours before we arrived here. I called ahead 2 hours before to see if they had anything available as it was on our way through and looked like a great place with lovely views.

As we entered the restaurant the staff all proceeded to just stand and look at as. 2 people in particular, a middle aged gent and a young lad with longish hair - they were looking directly at us - clearly talking about us but still left us standing looking around waiting to someone to come over. The young lad eventually decided to come over when he felt like it. Showed us to our table and didn’t give us any information about how to order, when asked he said it’s table service. We waited 5,10,15 mins no one even seemed to notice us and you try to make eye contact they look the complete opposite way. Anyway my husband goes up to ask and all of them walk the other way so he’s gone to the bar to get us a drink while we wait and as I looked over I could see the bar man completely blanking him and serving others (probably locals or regulars, that come up to the bar after him, joke!!!!) After he eventually got the drinks he asked someone if we can order as no one had bothered coming over. A gent says he will take the order for us but ends up not taking the order because a lady says she will come over which again takes her sweet time another 5-10 mins pass at this stage I think what exactly is the problem. We have been in a car for 7 hours and I just wanted to feed our child as she was hungry and it seemed exhausting to just order food!

Someone comes over and takes the order eventually and the food comes quite quick thankful for that and the food wasn’t too bad either. Once we’ve eaten we try to find out about the dessert included in our daughters meal. Tried to grab the attention of the staff to ask and again point blank ignored (particularly by the young lad with longish hair) ended up sorting it after much faff. Honestly could not wait to get out of there. Myself and my husband run a business in the UK and would be horrified if our staff behaved like that. I feel this place is very clicky and this review should be shown to your staff to improve and be better to people who are not local or in the click. No one should be made to feel that way for simply being...

The staff are friendly and very helpful but gone are the days of legendary fare from the restaurant. I have been dining here since 1977 and had many seafood platter for two. Never cheap but always good value until last I was here. The worst was the Killpatrick oysters that were completely dried out and inedible. So this time I had the steak. Cooked to perfection but disappointing small. Supposed to be a standard size but how do you check? It was quite small. The accompanying salad looked like it had been prepared days before. The greens were dessicated and limp to the point of being almost rubbery. How do you make a salad like that? I am sure that I don't know but it must be a skill in itself. Another member of our group had a Caesar salad. Way too much bacon (is that even possible?), and way too much dressing. Instead of croutons, anchovies and cubed boiled egg tossed through the salad there was just one poached egg on top with three anchovies laid over the top and six crusty bread pieces laid around the side. The steak was cooked perfectly though and that is one star. The other two stars are for the staff who...

Nice views of the water on the deck, nicely presented venue and cheerful staff. I only wanted something light so opted for the nonetheless rather pricey $25 cold seafood entrée. They certainly delivered on the small portion front. The dish consisted of two small rolls of salmon that were rather tasteless, dry and stringy, two king prawns that were rather tasteless and you could tell were old as the shells were soft, and two small oysters of the kind you'd expect to find at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Added to this was the need to shell the prawns, but with no finger bowl provided, required a trip to the bathroom to wash my hands after shelling them before I could eat them. It's clear to me those in charge of diner experience aren't too bothered if a diner's experience isn't...

We just had a perfect meal, grilled barramundi with pumping puree and side salad. We asked for extra avocado which we got plenty of, also very friendly staff. We had to wait a bit for the food but it was totally worth it as the fish was cooked to an absolute perfection, had crispy skin and we'll seasoned. Salad wad super fresh and generous portion. Also it is hard to find good dining options at 4.30 pm, we'll definitely be back! Lovely views too, Very happy, thank you 🤗🙌

Highly recommended dining experience at Club Mooney Mooney on the Hawkesbury. Possibly one of northern Sydney's best kept secrets it is less than a kilometre from the M1 motorway off ramp. Whereas the majority of traffic veers right towards Brooklyn, a left turn will get you to Mooney Mooney in under a minute. Top flight seafood menu with views of the Hawkesbury to match, a table out on the deck is the gold medal option. Bookings recommended especially in the lead up to Xmas.

The food was good. I went with the seafood pasta and definitely recommend it. The scallops were the highlight, really generously sized portions. A downside was the limited fish option, would’ve preferred something other than just hoki for the fish and chips plate
