The restaurant here was very underwhelming. As a club and as an establishment that prides itself on oysters this was very disappointing. When we arrived, we waited 10 minutes before a server approached us and gave us a table. We had asked to sit outside, however it was full or reserved. So the waitress said she would let us know once a table was available. Within 10 minutes, a table outside became free and another party took it. We ordered a dozen oysters with mignonette sauce, and when it arrived there wasn’t any sauce or lemon to go with it. We reminded our waitress that we had ordered the mignonette sauce with the oysters and the sauce was very sad looking when she brought it out. We also ordered the barramundi, which was mediocre. We paid over $100 for 2 starters, 1 main and 2 drinks, and it was definitely not worth it. A server had brought a wine glass to me that had lipstick marks around the entire rim. The staff were friendly but the service was disorganized and a little chaotic. This is my first ever negative review for a place. If you’re deciding to come here or another place, you should probably chose the other place as the food, service and pricing will most likely be better than the Mooney Mooney Club.

You know how when a meal is placed in front of you and you look at the food, then your stomach, then your food again and wonder how the hell that is going to all fit in there? That's how I felt when I ordered the "Half a butternut pumpkin, caramelised". I don't know why I ordered it. It wasn't the tastiest looking thing on the menu, but I just needed it. Let's talk about the caramelisation. It was kinda not.. it was actually a little hard. I felt it needed another 10 or 15 minutes in the oven to get that rich baked pumpkin goodness that was a Sunday roast staple. I wanted to be transported back 30 years like that critique in Ratatouille, but instead I was transported to every episode of Ramsey kitchen nightmares where he pokes at his food with a turned up nose. But that didn't stop me. The challenge was set, and that thing did in fact fit in my stomach. The saucy stuff on the salad made it bareable. Would I eat it again? F no. I'd get that gluten free gnocchi that my wife got. That looked the bomb, and she made sure I knew how good it was. She's lucky I love her.

Really poor value, got the hot seafood plate at $49.50, staff advised it would be big enough to share but it was so tiny, just for one person it wouldn't have been enough. 3 prawns, 3 tiny oysters, one bite of salmon, a balmain bug which was about two bites of meat, it was really overpriced. It needs something other than a simple salad and scallop shells to bulk it up. Note in the photo we traded the the muscles for 1 extra scallop. Bowl of chips was $8 and a small sauce was $2. If you go here, don't go for the seafood as it is well overpriced and undersized unfortunately. Service was really slow as only one staff member was working. It was quite covid-safe though with sanitiser, markings and a rigerous sign in procedure.

On Thursday, 6 October my family had a lunch and it was very disappointing . The service was horrible The food was also very disappointing. We had to wait over an hour for our main meals to arrive. During the lunch, they had kept a door out to the balcony open many guests asked for it to be closed and they said no some guests even went up and closed it, but they kept opening it, it was a really cold windy and rainy day.

Not only did they make us wait over an hour for our food, my meal never got put down. You would think that there’s 10 guests at the table that there would be 10 main meals ordered. They said that they were sorry and that if I was willing to wait they would cook it for me I said no purely because I didn’t want to wait. God knows how long for my meal to arrive when everyone else’s was already at the table and they were pretty much nearly halfway through their meal before someone noticed I didn’t have one.

The lady offered to go out the back and see what she could figure out for us, which I was grateful for . She then comes back and says we can only give you a bowl of chips. I accepted it because I was like I’m hungry. I have nothing to eat but really a bowl of chips that’s not a sustainable lunch and that is very poor service. Later on, we had the birthday cake, and they said that they weren’t going to charge the 2 kids and myself, to use their plates and cutlery as also sorry for the inconvenience .

In this circumstance, I had no control over the choice, but to be quite truthful I think they should’ve been more compensating then a bowl of chips and no charge for plates and cutlery. What would have been a nice gesture is They should’ve given the whole table free tea and coffee and not charging for plates and cutlery.

Considering that my main meal was over, $20, a bowl of chips does not justify. On another note our waiter not only forgot my meal, but she was asked. Could you please bring a spare set of cutlery and still to this day we are still waiting for that spare bit of cutlery. Another thing to also complain about two kids meals were ordered and no waiter came and asked the kids if they wanted their free, soft drink and ice cream that came along with the kids meal we actually had to go and source a waiter ourselves.

I will definitely never be coming back as it wasn’t worth the wait and also wasn’t worth the...

This was the second time we have given this venue a go only to left extremely disappointed once again. 1st visit around June 2022: My husband and I stopped off on our way back to the Central Coast from the Sth Coast. It was around 3pm and we decided to pop in to have a look and a quick beverage. We sat out on the veranda which was empty at the time. The manager approached us and told us that we were not allowed there unless we order food. (Totally understand at meal times) when my husband told him that we were not hungry and were leaving after one drink, the manager abruptly stated that we need to leave “ or to just order a plate of chips then, or sit on the smoking veranda” We do not smoke. We left our drinks and walked out. This Monday gone we again were travelling back from down south and decided that we were going to try again and stop for lunch around 1:30pm. The staff again were not welcoming or friendly. There were 3 empty tables outside, I asked if we could sit at one of them which the waitress crammed the 3 of us at a two person table. I then went back in to see if one of the 4 person tables was booked or not, which I was told were not and that we could move. The table was still dirty with food/sauce, table water and glasses still on there. Eventually the water and glasses were removed and we were given fresh ones with our orders taken. The restaurant was around half capacity when our order was taken with many finishing up. It got to around an hour of waiting for a chicken snit, spaghetti marinara, and pork chop. My husband went in and was told by the kitchen that they were waiting on the snit, and it was coming out now. We waited another 10 mins before again walking out. Not once were we told that there was over an hour wait on the food (we would have gone somewhere else) or any apology given. When we walked out the waitress even make a tisk noise and shook her head! In the car park the people at the table next to us asked if we had a problem also. When we told them our story they also stated that they had waited forever for average food and had made a complaint. I am quick to write positive reviews and have never felt the need before to post a negative one until now. If I could give 0 stars I would have. We will...

Wow..just Wow... But not in a good way, in fact in the least good way possible. Where do I start.. From the surly, sour faced wait person when we requested extra seats on our booked table, Made clear what a horrific inconveniance this was..like..My god..we have to accommodate more, make another setting !! Must get the manager.. again made to feel personally responsible for discombobulating his existance. 'Fully booked' on verandah. Fully booked..what were those vacant tables? More belittling, rebuking and patronising comments and..big Sigh..table brought. What! use the playground?..much to wet. Oh, well if you must !!! Climb through that plastic I shan't undo for small children. Much apology from us. High chair..asked 2 x people 3 times before gotten. Kids meals ordered before tables, 60 minutes and 3 x asked for later we got !! Nuggets n fish n chips. I recon you caught the fish n strangled a chicken it took so long. THEN ours.. if you dont believe me read comment below. Seafood platter for 2 °° Omg.. not even good for one..4 x tiny kilpatric oysters, charged $2 extra each and that was on top of $74 odd dollar cost. Small pieces of salmon and barra, overdone. Cold fish n warm prawns.. a smattering of them..4 to be exact. 'Panko squid' frozen fast food. Undercharred n cold squid..Mussels x 2.. again cold, tough. Chips !!! Where..Crab shell on top..EMPTY..2 x tiny legs BUT a craptastic load of salad..about $60 worth if platter anything to go by. And on, and on..2 +hours late for mealfrom ordering.. 12 30 to 2 .30 ..7 of us. Warm wine, ridiculous prices, slovenly clothed barman.. Then..a critique to chef..No, not on MKR...I know, but to be literally shut down, driven out, told I was drunk n police would be called by original 'challenged by customer service' manager..laugh out loud.. Someone remarked below..3 x's at this club..First, last and never again.. Hmmm We wish we missed our first. Only star, Abby..lil blond wait person who could not have been more helpful..... 5 Stars you...
