A very beautiful spot to stop for a break on the way to or from Sydney. It sits on the Hawkesbury River and is amazingly relaxing considering it's just off the motorway. There is a well treed park with undercover picnic spaces as well as seating near the waters edge. The many coloured sandstone cliffs of the Sydney Basin loom above and across the river. There is lots of parking although it may be busy on weekends as it is also a boat launching space. Food facilities are restricted to a coffee and ice cream van with chips etc but the provider is very cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately, the toilets are unisex so women may find them a bit smelly on occasion. This is an appropriate stop for people of all abilities with disabled parking spaces and toilet. It's also excellent for those traveling with pets, who want to provide them with fresh air and exercise. There are plenty of long parking spaces for trailers,...

Too many people visit this area that do not know how to A. use an Australian toilet correctly And B. How to use a rubbish bin.

Instead they throw their rubbish where ever they feel like. Saw it many times in the night we stayed

Australian govt is all about tourism but needs to back it up with how to protect the country by teaching tourists how to dispose of their rubbish correctly.

Apart from all this it’s a handy and nice place to park in your van. Locusts are louder than the traffic. We turned our aircon on for a couple of hours as it was really hot. it cooled the van down enough to sleep and we did so with our windows shut and parked in the middle section next to fruit stall.

I really think it’s a 3 star ⭐️ stop but gave it an extra star for its closeness to Sydney & convenience to travelling M1. As for the disgusting 🤮 🤢 toilets I think it should loose 4 stars. Worst I’ve seen...

This rest stop is in a wonderful place at Mooney Mooney bridge. However, travellers have left their mark by leaving rubbish everywhere and locals have dumped household rubbish as well. The toilets are filthy, not all are operational and not very well maintained. I don’t know what it is, but roadside toilet stops are usually disgusting. I . Don’t seem to respect these places for what they are - a convenience they should be grateful for and caring of!! A lot of people launch their boats from here and leave their boat trailers here. Plenty of boat trailer and car parking There are no signs saying you can’t, but people do camp here, in their camper vans. This could be a really lovely place, if it wasn’t so untidy with the rubbish and poor...

We made a short pit stop here on our way back from Newcastle. Nice open and quiet reserve that we tried to fish at. Sadly there were very little fish here and a huge amount of seaweed on almost every cast, was still fun for the kids though. There’s no camping here and a bunch of other restrictions so don’t think anyone ever intends to stay here for a long period. Plenty of outdoor parking and an ice cream van that’s regularly parked there. Don’t get their zipper doopers, they are all semi melted by midday sitting in the van probably in an eski. If you want to make a stop, it’s a relaxing spot to sit down eat (bring your own food). If you need to buy food then probably go down the street where’s there’s restaurants etc.

If you are travelling to Central Coast from Sydney just after 20 mins you will see a picturesque bridge with blue water on both sides and you will immediately start appreciating the beauty of this state. Just under the bridge is Deerubbun Reserve which is a great stop and a good picnic area. This spot is a fisherman's delight and if you throw in a line you will get some good fish. A great place to sit and enjoy the morning and evening sun. There are clean toilets and many benches and plenty of grounds to just sit and relax. Nice boat ramp as well.

Deerubbun Reserve, situated near the Hawkesbury River is a favored destination for picnics, relaxation, and enjoying picturesque views. It provides BBQ areas, boat ramps, and fishing spots, allowing visitors to engage in a variety of activities. The park welcomes dogs, making it an excellent choice for families and pet owners. Conveniently located less than an hour from the city, it offers stunning combination of mountain, water, sunset views for travelers to enjoy.
