Cuisine Restaurant on Lake Crackenback — Restaurant in New South Wales

We have been staying at Lake Crackenback resort for 3 nights, with breakfast paid for to be included in our stay. The breakfast is extremely underwhelming. The only choice of eggs is a pot of badly scrambled eggs. I really wouldn’t recommend the breakfast at all. There’s cold yoghurts and packaged cereals, standard toast and Vegemite light breakfast options, if you’re ok with that. The fruit selection is probably the best part of breakfast.

Tonight, we thought we would try dinner at Cuisine, hoping maybe the food was just average at breakfast because it was made in catering size quantities and maybe there would be a different chef for dinner.

The Cattleman’s steak dish my wife and I had was one of the worst steaks we have ever had. Half the steak was undercooked and tough as anything. Covered in a split curry type mustard sauce that for some reason was smothered on the steak when it came out and oily highlighter yellow chips. My wife ordered a lemon lime & bitters and it came out 3/4 full. We were the only people in the restaurant at 1730. We told the person who rung up our order that we weren’t happy with our meals, (we didn’t even eat them) and she said sorry and loaded the Eftpos machine up for us to pay almost $100 for dinner tonight. Amazing place.. not sure why it has alow rating.. food is yummy and big servings.. we had dinner 2 nights in a row..loved it that much..the staff was very friendly, helpful and happy. The manager Ash is awesome.. we didn't have a reservation the 1st night and they were full but Ash made space and accommodated us.. He made sure that another couple who did not have a reservation the next day also had a table.. he response was " you guys need to eat let's somehow make space" really loved our experience there.. my son is a picky eater and he eat all the food fish and chips were excellent..will recommend it every time..Keep up your amazing customer service Ash and the stuff.. will be...
