I’m not quite sure what’s happened to this place, but it feels like the magic has well and truly disappeared. The food, for one, no longer justifies the price. The chicken schnitzel was deep-fried beyond recognition, more fossil than feast and had me contemplating a trip to the dentist instead of dessert.
Then there’s the new staff attire. Today, I was greeted by a sea of neon teal shirts that could easily moonlight as window-cleaning uniforms. What happened to the classy navy blue with the traditional logo? It was timeless, professional, and, most importantly, a nod to the club’s Rugby League heritage. Has someone in management forgotten where we are, or more importantly who we are?
Change for the sake of change is rarely a good strategy. As the saying goes, "If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it." The staff themselves are still fantastic, friendly, accommodating, and among the best in the business, but now they’ve been dressed in shirts that seem more suited for a circus. If I wanted to see clowns, I’d buy a ticket to one.
Regrettably, I will be expressing my dissatisfaction by walking away. If this is the vision the directors hold for the future of our esteemed club, perhaps it is time they reflect on their roles and step aside, making way for individuals with genuine passion and a commitment to preserving the proud heritage of this once-great institution. Alternatively, members with influence might consider forming a coalition to effect meaningful change and vote these...
Read moreFriends arrived from Dubbo so we went to the club for dinner, got there at 745pm.. stood at the counter to be served but the bistro staff didn't come near us till 802, even tho they saw us standing there.. they told us kitchen was closed... very bad service as the staff member on the front desk told us that the kitchen was open.. I think staff are just lazy.
Well went back with more friends 3 weeks ago... the woman in the Cafe was rude as ever because another older woman and myself stood waiting to be served for over 5 minutes so we called out... obviously interrupted her social life... she then proceeded to be rude and seemed agitated she had to serve anyone... when she put the saucers on the top counter to make the other woman's 3 coffees ( no she didn't take both our orders as that would have been logical and common sense) she basically tried to push my phone off the counter! Try using the bench you have to make coffee. And whilst you're at it learn to smile and be nice to customers... you know that's what your job is... Food was again under par.. garlic bread was not cooked. Soft and gluggy and not sure if it was microwaved instead of under the grill. Burger was dry and the pasta made 2 friends throw up after a few spoon fulls. I have emailed ELC but they never get back to you at all or even...
Read moreI'm not usually one to leave reviews like this but I've been told by lower management that the people who have taken over aren't communicating decisions so this may get there attention. I called to organise a booking, I obviously was aware I left it until last minute so had to arrange my dinner booking for 4pm. The reason we chose Erina was because of the kids eat free special on Sundays and that there was going to be a disco on. When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Chrissy who told us the disco had been cancelled. It was ok, it wasn't the main reason we came although miss 8 was disappointed, we moved on. Come to order time and I get told they aren't doing kids eat free even though the signage was still on the till. The people I spoke to said the decision was out of their hands and "higher management aren't speaking to us".. pretty disappointing considering how awesome this place can be. Probably the last time I'll attend dinner here which is a shame because I regularly attend your poker tournaments and enjoy Karaoke. They will feel the pinch of these decisions pretty quickly...
