We were shopping at Erina Fair and decided to try NK Thai Kitchen for dinner on a Thursday night after.
When we arrived, there were only 3 other tables with diners. What became evident was that they didn't have enough staff to cater for great table service. After sitting down, we decided to go grab the menus from the counter. Then, after spending time picking our dishes, we waited for someone to take our order. Finally, my husband went up to the counter to place our order.
I must say the food made up for the lack of service. The fish cakes were so full of flavour. The best I have had in a long time. The Green Curry Chicken was on the mild side for flavour but still tasty.
We also had the crispy pork belly chilli & Thai basil stir fry. The pork belly was super crispy, like it was just deep-fried. The vegetables were lovely and fresh. The downside was the lack of Thai basil. We found one small piece in the whole dish. It was disappointing considering this dish cost $25.90, I was expecting more basil and flavours and a real wow factor. Note: The crispy pork dishes cost more than some seafood options!!
When we went to pay, we were surprised at the price. It was just short of $80 for 1 entree & 3 dishes and steamed rice. Honestly, we felt it was quite pricey considering the lack of table service.
Considering it wasn't a busy evening with many vacant tables with the lack of good table service, the pork belly dish being just average for the price paid (a difference of $7 against having chicken), I'm not sure I'll be running back...
Read moreOn 6th Oct 2024 my son and I went there for lunch. We ordered the tom yum noodle soup with vege and tofu and tom yim beef fried rice. The tom yum noodle soup didnt even tasted of tom yum it was some watered down version of tom yum and the noodle that was served was overcooked and broken into pieces and clearly was ery old noodles. It was not even edible at all it tasted nothing like tom yum soup. The tom yum friend rice was not even tom yim friend rice it was more like any fried rice down the road with no tom yum taste whatsoever. I asked them to make it abit spicy but none of the 2 dishes was spicy at all. Pls go somewhere else if tou want authentic thai food as it does not taste thai at all and very poor quality and taste of food. Sorry to say this, i am not sure they even know what thai food suppose to tastw like. I wont recommend any of the food better to go to Saigon at wyoming should have gone there instead. Money wasted on food that was not even...
Read moreWas hopeful of a decent feed when ordering some takeaway (based on reviews). The fish cakes were reasonable (as good as most places). Alas the thai beef salad was a few strips of super grissly beef with loads of raw onion (and almost nothing else). The crispy pork and chinese broccoli was equally average (the few strips of pork was not crispy at all, and the heaps of chinese broccoli was tough). Maybe the curries and noodle dishes are the better options? Unlikely to...
