Family Hotel — Restaurant in New South Wales

Stayed one night, quiet happy overall with the place, I stayed for a very reasonable price for a single night. I was a little disappointed to be greeted with the stench of tobacco smoke upon opening my room door, had to open the window to breathe. upon complaining to the staff member he was very apologetic and took action immediately by giving me another room which was sanitary, and followed up to make sure it was ok, not his fault somebody ignores the facts on the doors stating non smoking but you would think the rooms were checked daily. Showers were hot. The rissoles I ordered were a touch tasteless for me, seemed to be just drowned in a red wine gravy, not an Aussie rissole to my taste. The general liveliness in the pub was good. Whilst we are on our little holiday of Tamworth,we wanted a place for lunch and pool, this is a old school aussie pub, the food was a big let down let down, let’s start with a Thai beef salad, Thai beef salad should be medium steak cooked and rested then sliced thinly and loaded in with salad, this was dry not good quality meat, with a Asian saucy salad,

My partner is Italian was craving pasta, he tried it and said to me something seems strange, he could quiet out his finger on it, the pastas it self was not over cooked it was good however the sauce was bland, and they haven’t used mince it had steak through it, it turned out he didn’t like the cheese ontop of the pasta it wasn’t great , the pool table is out doors with no fans or anything it was a 34 degree day, so we went to a different hotel with pool...

Meals were a good size but very average tasting and not worth the price. The place was busy and they did let us know there would be a 40 minute wait. I ordered the grain fed rump steak, cooked as requested but unseasoned and lacked flavor and a bit tough.We ordered sweet potatoe chips however they didn't have any and didn't tell us until we collected our meals 40 minutes later. I let them know when we ordered it was a main meal as my daughter only wanted something light, so effectively she didn't get a meal and although she was given the option to order something else it was a bit late in game while everyone else was almost finished their meal.
