The name of this business is very true. It is a grumpy cafe with the grumpiest of waiters and staff. In the day of post covid we are meant to be free. This store did not accept my legal reason for exemption to not show my medical history, even though I showed them the documentation. I was not wearing a mask either yet this was not an issue for them. They were more concerned that I refused to show them my private information. What are they worried about, covid spreading or their ability to act like the Gestapo for the NSW government. This place has no idea of the law and the requirements. They are meant to accept legal exemptions, not make up their own illogical rules to suit their own beliefs. I strongly recommend the cafe a few doors down Mogo Ice Creamy who were polite and understanding and gave us great service with the grumpiness experienced...

We stopped here on our way back from Tuross Heads. When we walked inside the place was packed and there was a lovely wood fire burning. We ventured out to the courtyard which had plenty of seating both under the gazebo and in the open area which was surrounded by trees and plants, it was really pleasant to look at. Once we found a table we then went in to order our coffee and couldn't resist also ordering 2 slices of carrot cake with cream, it looked so scrumptious and it didn't disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffee and cake. Given that this is such a popular place, it would be good idea to maybe also include some outdoor heating for those cold winter days, like the day we attended. However, we would definitely come back again, as the food was great, service was friendly and price...

Review updated: Mogo mountain bike trails are just a stones throw from Grumpys, there is bike parking at Grumpys and they are mountain bike friendly. Make sure when you want to get coffee, cake or lunch to pop in from the trails. You won't be disappointed.

Review updated: I've since found out I am coeliac, so gluten free. They are able to cater for me being gluten free with the menu and have a great understanding of it.

When ever we are in the Bay my parents always say 'go to Grumpys, it's our favourite' and I can see why. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the coffee is wonderful and the food is great.

The atmosphere is nice and fun, the garden is great and my nephew loves to take in all the sights of the pretty flowers.

It's a great Cafe in Mogo and well...

I came across this place on my way to Tomakin for a getaway from Sydney, at first the name intrigued me & I wanted to go back if for nothing else but a photo opportunity, alas I decided to go in for brunch as well I’m glad I did! The service is great, the staff are friendly, the menu is perfect… not too much and a good variety and is dog friendly (they even have a Paw of Fame board!) I got the BLT and sat in the outdoor garden, and was fortunate enough to also experience their live entertainment, which was extremely relaxing and charming I highly recommend stopping in here on your journeys!

A very great, quiet place for a nice coffee and breakfast ☕️🥪🌅 with a pretty little outside area that has some beautiful flowers and trees. The staff is very friendly and professional in making sure the customer is taken care of. The dishes are all delicious - well balanced taste for the Toasties and Double-Bacon and Egg roll 🍞🍔 Beware, Breakfast dishes go until 11.30 P.M. and from then on the Lunch dishes are available (as of 20th august 2025) 🍁 Overall, greatly recommended due to friendly staff, nice quiet environment and great taste - and great coffee!
